I am beauty and brains in one perfect package - and I’m on the lookout for a home where I can truly thrive! I’m an energetic, intelligent dog with a playful spirit and a heart full of sweetness....with an added bonus for your entertainment: I’ve perfected the all-too-cute head tilt, complete with my adorably quirky ears! Even though I’ve had my share of challenges (I was hit by a car and required surgical pins in both of my back legs), these experiences have only strengthened my resilience and desire for a stable and loving family. I am both house trained and crate trained, making me well-prepared to integrate into your home. I excel with a consistent routine, including scenic outdoor excursions, training, and plenty of playtime! I’ve really shown off my intelligence in leash and manners training, and I’m especially alert and responsive when there are snacks involved. While I have lived with other dogs and older children before, I’m quite dominant with other dogs and a bit too boisterous for small children. However, teenage kids are the perfect fetch partners for me! I may be a bit apprehensive at first, but I am a loyal companion who will reward your patience with genuine affection. If you’re seeking a dynamic, engaging, and sweet partner to share your life with, submit an adoption application at the MAS website below! DOB: 2 / 9 / 2022 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physically fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Do you have an “empty nest”? Are you looking for some handsome boy companionship? Great news, your search is over! In addition to my very dapper good-boy looks, I am also an avid ball player and dignified goofball. You may be thinking how in the world I can posses such conflicting personality traits...well I am definitely very regal in my looks and initial demeanor...but once I let my hair down (the shed is real, am I right?) and create a bond with my person, I reveal my more quirky attributes! I love being outdoors; you could even say that I am easily amused. Whether it be playing fetch to my heart's desire or going for a long trail walk (I would probably make a pretty good jogging buddy too). If you have a boat with an empty seat, count me in because I LOVE to swim! Being a German Shepherd, I am one of the 'brighter crayons in the box'. In my free time I like to work with the staff and volunteers to brush up on my basic command skills. They are always telling me what a smart guy I am! Well...I assume that's what they are saying, judging by the treats they give me, I am doing good! Proper introductions to establish a trusting, positive, first impression is a must with me. I am an old fashioned kind of guy. I know I am irresistibly handsome, but I appreciate getting to know each other before getting all touchy-feely. Because of this, I would be happiest in a home without children (or other wondering hands). I do love affection and a good ear rub....but a mutual respect needs to be established first. I also want to be your only side-kick, I am not a social butterfly with other pets, I would much rather hangout with just my person. I have a pretty strong prey drive to keep the stray cat and pesky squirrels out of our yard too....A job I take very seriously. If you are in the market for a dashing side-kick to rid the yard of vermin, submit your adoption application at the website below to see if we are a match! Story
I am a huntress with a master's degree in squeaky toy thrills! A fair warning to the squirrels, stray cats, bunnies, and other live action squeaky toys that dare to think they stand a chance at escaping my game! It is important to me that a respectable bond is built between us. I know I am out-of-this-world beautiful but I prefer to be admired from a distance...at first. I am unapologetically selective about my entourage, but once you're in my loop of trust, say goodbye to your personal space and hello to my daybue of affection! Unwinding from a day of fun with some snuggles and tummy tickles is my idea of ultimate bliss! I would be best suited as the only pet in our life together, as sharing attention...or toys...or food...isn't really my strong suit. Moreover, someone experienced in canine lingo will be best equipped to understand my quirks. While its true that I am a little hard headed, my curious nature and intellect is the perfect blend of charm...occasionally too much for my own good. I enjoy problem solving to get my way, and to keep you on your toes! Having a larger than average brain does come with some risk of mischief if I'm left to find my own objective. If you're looking for a loyal car ride companion, or a reason to place an Amazon order for new puzzle games, submit a MAS adoption application for yours truly! Story
Hi there, sunshine! I’m Buffy, your personal dose of happy energy and wildflower magic. I’m a bouncy, free-spirited girl who thinks life is meant to be celebrated. Whether I’m zooming through the yard like a little comet, tossing my toys in the air just because it feels good, or spreading smiles to everyone around me, I bring the fun wherever I go! I love playing with other dogs and soaking up all the attention I can get. My heart is big, my tail is faster than a hummingbird wing, and my joy is totally contagious! Cats? I’m still figuring them out. They’re kind of mysterious and still confuse me a little. I might need a little time (and maybe a treat or two) to figure out how to share space with one. But with a little patience, I bet I can warm up! If you’re looking for a playful spirit to brighten your days and sprinkle a little sunshine on even your grayest mornings, I’m your girl! Go ahead and fill out an adoption application at the MAS website below to meet me! I’ll be waiting, tail wagging and heart wide open. Story
Maizey Female German Shepherd/Pitbull Mix 1 year old Meet Maizey, the sweetest and most loving girl! This playful, affectionate pup is full of personality and joy, and she's ready to find a family of her very own. She would thrive in a fenced-in yard where she can run her heart out and play to her heart's content. Fetch is her absolute favorite game - she could play all day long if you let her! She also enjoys chewing on her nylabone, splashing around in water, and even chasing the sprayer hose. Whether she's zooming around outside, playing with other dogs, or hopping in the car for an adventures, she's always up for fun! At home, Maizey is a big cuddler who just wants to be close to her people - touching you, leaning on you, or snuggling right up beside you. She's guaranteed to make you laugh with her silly antics, like chasing her tail in endless circles or being goofy with her toys. Because she can get a little enthusiastic with her affection, she'd do best in a home without small children, just to make sure she doesn't accidentally knock them over. She also has some herding breed in her and tends to try and herd them. She bonds deeply with her people and would love a family where someone is home more often. While she may get a little sad when left alone, she's never destructive or naughty - just a loyal pup missing her favorite humans. Smart, inquisitive, and eager to please, Maizey listens so well and has so much love to give. She's not just a dog - she's a best friend, a sidekick, and a source of endless joy. Maizey was originally adopted from us as a puppy. She was returned after a year in her home because the family felt she wasn't a great fit for them. Because of this and to ensure Maizey gets the right fit, her new home needs a fenced-in yard, older children and someone who can handle a high-energy dog. She will need someone wiling to exercise her, play with her, take her to doggy daycare - whatever needs to be done to get her energy out. If she doesn't have this release, she can become frustrated. Maizey is spayed and microchipped. She will be up to date on vaccines and a hw test before being adopted. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Maizey, fill out an online application at figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt.
