Story
Crixus is an 8-year-old, 65 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a strong heart. He’s mellow and polite in the home, perfectly potty trained, and happy to lounge under the table or near his people as they go about their day. While he loves a good walk and sniffs everything with purpose, he’s also content to kick back and watch the world go by. He’s kid-friendly, dog-curious (but strong on leash), and loves to be outside. Crixus is  not a good match for homes with cats or small dogs , but could potentially live with another large dog after slow introductions. He’ll be neutered before adoption and is ready to start the next chapter of his life with a calm but active family. Age:8 year old Breed: German Shepherd Weight: 65 lbs Kid-friendly: Yes Dogs:Does well with larger dogs with proper introduction, not great with small dogs Cats:No Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes Health concerns: None at this time Current medications & estimated costs:None.  Will be neutered before being adopted. Adoption fee:$375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   October 13, 2025, 5:13 pm

Story
This darling boy is a 5-year-old, 90-pound German Shepherd mix. Sam was originally rescued from a situation where he was confined to a small kennel almost 24/7. While his rescuers cared for him deeply, significant life changes unfortunately meant they could no longer keep him. Thanks to their detailed notes, we know all about this sweet boy’s history. Given his troubled past with kenneling, we are eager to move him out of the shelter and into a permanent or temporary home as soon as possible. Sam will take time to fully open up to new people, but we know his heart will let the right people in!Despite a difficult start in life, Sam became a beloved family member to his rescuers. He is an incredibly fun, affectionate boy who truly loves his people. He is always up for an adventure, adores being talked to, and is highly motivated by treats. As a true people-pleaser, he has amazing recall once he trusts you and is happy to perform basic commands. Sam is fully house-trained and will enter a kennel when asked, though he prefers to free-roam due to his history of confinement. Best of all, he never counter surfs and rarely begs! One of Sam’s favorite activities is doing the zoomies in the snow. He has the time of his life when a friend tosses snowballs for him to catch or shovels snow into the air for him to jump through. When Sam is happy, he hops around on his feet as if he can`t contain it, yet he is polite enough to never jump up on people.Sam previously lived with cats and does well with them, provided they are calm and don`t startle him.

Story
Birdie arrived at the shelter with her littermates, Foxy and Wolf. These incredible puppies got a wonderful head start in a lovely foster home, where they began potty training, practiced leash walking, and socialized with dogs of all sizes—including German Shepherds and Great Pyrenees!Foxy is a bit shy and finds comfort in being near his people. He especially loves to sit right at your feet for pets. Because he likes to stay close, he is already great on a leash! He’s also a big fan of fetch.Birdie is a curious explorer who always has her nose to the ground in search of interesting smells. She loves to stretch out for a good back scratch, and her adorable foot freckles are guaranteed to make you smile!Wolf is the confident leader of the crew. He thrives on new experiences and loves meeting new people. Whether he’s playing fetch or chasing after other dogs, this friendly, loving pup is always the life of the party! All three of these pups are neutered/spayed, microchipped, and up to date on their vaccines. You can visit them at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Story
Audrick is one handsome, bright-eyed boy! This 11-month-old, 55-pound Shepherd and Lab mix has a charming lankiness and the coolest ears. Audrick is incredibly friendly and wants to make buddies with all people, dogs, and cats. He absolutely loves running and playing with other pups until they both drop for a nap. Since he`s so playful, he would do best in a home with another dog who enjoys a good romp!Audrick is a smart boy who will sit easily if you offer a yummy treat. He needs a little help with his potty training, but we think he`ll get the hang of things quickly in a stable home environment. This sweet guy is ready to curl up with his new family!Audrick is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at The Babinski Foundation Animal Shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
