Story
Hi! I'm Chewy. I'm a female German Shepherd/St. Bernard mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, spayed, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Curious, affectionate, and friendly. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: My friends here say that I'm a very affectionate and energetic girl. I love getting lots of affection from my friends, and seem like I would adore having a good hiking/jogging partner to satisfy my curiosity with the world! Due to my breed, I shed quite a bit and get very excited for a good brushing. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 8/10 Housetraining Status: I'm still working on my housetraining, but I'm super smart! With a consistent routine and some patience, I should have it down in no time. I should do well in a home: With kids and dogs of all ages given proper introductions. My previous owners say that I was curious about the cats in the home. My favorite activities are: Getting LOTS of love! Things I need work on are: Leash manners, basic commands, and housetraining. My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
Clover is settling in and doing great at his foster home but he is more than ready to find his furever home .    Clover is a 6 year old shepherd mix who’s a big boy weighing in at 94lbs. His previous owner was forced to give him up after being no longer able to care for him. Despite this huge change he adapted well to life at his foster home.    This gentle giant loves humans of all sizes but especially children . He has been used to being the only dog but has done fine in with his 4 legged foster sibling, although he isn’t much for playing. Clover has also done well around cats although sometimes he can seem a bit stressed around them.    His favorite thing to do is to play fetch. He would do this for hours if he was allowed! He does kennel fairly well but prefers not to have the door closed. Clover also does well roaming the house. He is fully potty trained and will let you know if he has to go outside.    Clover has a lot of love to give and is at the perfect age to do just that     If you’re interested in adopting Clover, and are Pre-approved, please private message us, or APPLY HERE: https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you’re already preapproved!)   **Clover’s $200 adoption fee includes UTD vaccinations, heartworm test, current vet check, and microchip. ##2452443##

Story
She is super friendly puppy that LOVES people of all ages. She's a social dog that loves saying hi to anyone she meets. She's been socialized since birth with a variety of dogs of all breeds and sizes. She gets along great with every dog she meets. She's also young enough to learn how to live with cats. Mom is a mix of some sort, we see Shepherd and Corgi. Dad is unknown, momma was found on a reservation and a partner rescue reached out to see if we could help. She will be up to date on her first distemper, has been on a deworming schedule and will have a health exam prior to adoption. The adopter will take over the responsibility of getting her spayed at the age your vet feels is best. They were born on 10/25. A DNA test was done and they came back at 38.5% German Shepherd, 35% Australian Cattle dog and 26.4% Supermutt! If you are interested, please fill out an application on our website and a volunteer will be in touch. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FFMN/Dog

Story
Meet Lucy and Ricky! (They need to be adopted together)This adorable bonded pair has been with each other through thick and thin. They originally came to PCHS back in 2021 and were here for a few months and were adopted. After 4 and half years they found their way back to us through no fault of their own. Their family was moving to an assisted living program and could not take the dogs with. Understandably, they are a bit unsure being back in shelter but they are adjusting quickly. We are hoping their stay with us can be short. They enjoy going out for walks, getting attention and chilling on a nice comfy dog bed. They have lived with cats and have done well with them. Not only are they cat friendly, but they are used to be around kids from ages 2-12 years. These two would make a great addition to almost any household. *Ricky does have an old injury to his hip/tail so he walks with a bit of a `hitch` in his step but it does not seem to cause pain. He has had this since he was under a year old and has been doing well, he just walks a little `funny`.If this bonded pair sounds like a good match for you, apply online today!Adoption fee for the pair is $200 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

Story
This is our beautiful Missy. Missy’s story is heartbreaking. On Thanksgiving day, Missy was found tied to a pole in Spring Lake Park. She was shivering from the cold and rightfully terrified. Thanks to the skills of our friends at Companion Animal Care & Control, Missy was eventually able to be secured and taken to safety. Missy came here frightened and leery. Now, she waits patiently to go on a walk and is such a nice girl. She knows some basic commands and is very treat motivated. Missy would love to find someone with German Shepherd experience and knowledge of the breed. Shepherds are loyal and incredibly intelligent dogs. Most importantly, Missy wants and deserves a family who won’t let her down. She is a healthy girl and estimate to be two years old. Missy has her whole life ahead of her. Please share and help Missy continue her journey of recovery and resiliency.***Missy has not been dog or cat tested at this time***Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax
