STILL LOOKING FOR HER FUREVER PEOPLE ❤️ Aleah is a very good girl, but at only a year-old, she is still very puppy-like and can be mouthy. She knows sit, down, focus and place and walks well on a leash. She’s crate trained and potty trained! Aleah is a tripod but it doesn’t slow her down at all! She was hit by a car, resulting in the amputation, and she STILL will try to chase cars- a secure fence and leashed-walks are required until she has more training. Aleah is a typical German Shepherd. She loves all people, but doesn’t understand her size, so probably no young kids. She does have prey-drive, so no kitties or small dogs. Aleah is goofy and playful but needs an adopter who will set clear and consistent rules and boundaries with her. When it comes to needing to take things from her, we always offer her a trade, and she LOVES to trade. She does enjoy playing with our large, male dog-testing dog, but she does not share well with other dogs- not food, toys nor the water bowl. We are recommending a home with no other dogs. Aleah will absolutely light up your life and you won’t be sorry to bring her into your home ❤️

He’s between 6 and 7yo and LOVES...we mean LOVES car rides! He'd be a great dog for a trucker! Clover is house broken, crate trained, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, has basic obedience, walks well on leash and is good with other dogs! He is SUCH an awesome, easy dog. Kids 12+ are good for mr clover. Clover is incredibly sweet but does need to get to know people before they interact with him. He just doesn’t want strangers petting him immediately- he isn’t aggressive or reactive in general, he just wants a bit before new people pet him. Which would be easier to do if he didn’t look like a freaking teddy bear… people are *drawn* to petting him, they can’t resist. So, Clover needs not only a good owner but a GOOD ADVOCATE- someone willing to stop people from rushing in and petting him- someone who will stick up for Clovers right to need a little time and space. A little time, a walk and some food and you’re in- he is easily bribed. Clover is one of the easiest, most loving dogs ever. He’s a gem in the rescue, a great role model for the other dogs, always polite and appreciative. Clover is smart, food motivated and has medium energy. He loves adventures, he loves car rides, but he also can Netflix and chill all day too. I know there’s got to be someone out there looking for a dog as special as Clover ❤️

When we first met Evva, this little lady was very kennel stressed in one of our Southern California shelter partners. Sweet Evva really needed a change of scenery and some confidence to come out of her shell. In just a very short time we realized this girl was going to be a blast! She just needed the right guidance and confidence building. Evva has been working really hard on overcoming her fears and her doggy socialization. She has a great ball drive and a huge willingness to please! She is still selective with her doggy friends, so very slow, controlled doggy interactions are necessary. Evva just started her basic obedience training, but she is a little sponge and is at the perfect age to learn with her new humans! Evva is medium-high energy and likely a German Shepherd/Malinois mix. She adores people and loves attention and affection. Here is Declan! He has been in our care for over three years, being pulled from a kill shelter on his last day by a WARF volunteer. On arrival at our sanctuary, we discovered that Declan's left eye was completely ruptured and had to be removed due to either bullet or blunt force trauma. We also discovered that he was likely a former guard dog that had been badly trained, resulting in misplaced aggression towards people and animals. Declan started out with only one friend in the world and was aggressive towards everyone, but he is now confident enough to be able to be introduced to new people by his trusted handlers in a slow, controlled environment. In the three years that Declan has been with WARF, he has made slow but steady progress, and we now feel that he is ready to find his special person. He would be an ideal dog for a single woman, as his protective nature really comes through once he has bonded with someone. He would prefer an indoor-outdoor environment, as he likes to roam the perimeter, making sure everything is safe, but needs to be securely contained as he is a big, strong boy and can't be in an environment where he could encounter a person or animal he does not know. Declan has learned to walk nicely alongside other dogs but does not want to share his life, or his people, with other animals. Scooby has the genetics of 2 breeds known for their protective temperaments. Genetics will always play a part in his character, so he will need proper introductions to strangers- especially those entering his territory. Scooby has come a long way learning to trust strangers and disengage but he will need an adopter who is experienced with working breeds. Scooby is NOT a working candidate. He has a lot of environmental sensitivities. He is a big old scardey-cat. His barking may make you think he’s tough, but alas, he is not.
