Story
I adopted Jax from SAHS shelter in San Antonio,Tx on 5/02/21. He was 3 1/2 years at that time. Jax was recovering from hip surgery. He was the only calm collective dog in the shelter when i visited, being that he had been there from being a puppy so the staff mentioned. Jax had recently been on our local news when a segment on all dogs needing a home ( Jax being a veteran there ) I felt so compelled to adopt him. I’m so glad I did ! Jax is one of those breeds that are just so calm, loving, self cared, perfectly train dog that will never bark unless feels threatened. He does not chew / bite on personal belongings. He loves the outdoors! He can jog up two two miles without getting tired. He knows commands as to sit and paw handshakes. He will follow you and sleep by your bedside if allowed. He does love to chase squirrels and loves going to pet parks. Its with a heavy heart to rehome Jax he is the perfect companion to have.

Story
We found Callahan roaming the neighborhood one morning in October, he came to us but was obviously anxious and lost. We took him to the vet where they found no microchip and gave him his vaccines (he needs his boosters at the moment). After searching and posting him online for months we’ve determined that he was probably abandoned. He is the sweetest senior (about 7yo), he loves affection and attention from his caretakers but doesn’t give much heed to cats and other dogs. He still has a lot of energy and wants to be loved! He likes to spend his time napping with his soccer ball or going for walks.

Story
Lola is my niece’s dog; however, she does not take care of her like Lola deserves. Lola is extremely loving and is still puppy. She loves to jump on you and doesn’t realize how big she is as she is able to knock you over with her big paws. My mother adopted her from the shelter for my niece. Lola needs to be around other dogs, go on long walks and be able to be inside the house as well. My mom had assistance with a trainer for around a month but my niece didn’t not continue to train her. My mom is older and can’t care for her/train her as Lola has knocked her down before. Lola knows how to sit for treats and she really is an amazing dog. She has the potential to be a GREAT guard dog. Lola has a lot of energy and loves to play fetch but does not like to give the ball back. Even though she is not my dog, I love her a lot but I’m unable to bring her to my home. Lola deserves to be with a family/owner who is going to give her the attention she deserves.

Story
This is Sonny! He is a mixed Belgian Malinois. Have not DNA tested but my veterinarian believes he is mixed with Rhodesian Ridegback. He is about 3 years old. Sonny is VERY active and requires a lot of exercise. I unfortunately was not aware of what is required of this breed before adopting. He is very protective and sweet when he gets to know you. He is not okay with strangers at first so I believe he would require a few meetings with a potential adopter before committing. I would love to find him a new home with a lot of room for him to play with a big yard. He is ok with children but does not prefer to be around small children. He gets along with my male German shepherd but they get aggressive towards each other for dominance. Would do best with a female dog if there will be another dog in household. Please contact me with any questions. Sonny is a very loving, loyal, high maintenance dog. In no rush to rehome as he requires a specific type of owner familiar with his breed.

Story
Max, a Belgian Malinois approximately 1.5 years old, was adopted from the local shelter. He’s a very social dog who loves playing with other dogs and people of his size. Max is excellent to walk on a leash and off-leash, and he doesn’t pull. He’d thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and sports. Max is an excellent hiker and runner. The new family or owner will need to have experience with dogs, especially with the Belgium Malinois bread. as Max requires daily activities and attention year round. He sleeps on his bed and doesn’t crate, he sleeps through the night no problems. He’s also used to car rides and follows basic commands like sit, down, come, and stay. Max loves playing fetch with his tennis ball in the park. Best for Max will be a house with a back yard, no condo.
