Story
This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $100 if picked up in TN, $175 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Willow starts every day like she is ready to win a gold medal in joy and fetch. She is a smart, high energy German Shepherd who loves having a job and loves her toys even more. At 3 years old and about 70 pounds, Willow is everything people adore about the breed. She is sharp, playful and full of heart. She knows sit, crate, go outside, come, stay and even find it for her beloved ball. She is fully housetrained and sleeps or relaxes in her crate when needed. If you want a dog who lights up the moment you pick up a toy, she is your girl. Fetch is her true passion. She will proudly bring her ball, stare at you like you are the chosen one and then sprint after it with full commitment. She enjoys playing with dogs her own size who are polite and not pushy. She is sweet with kids and anyone willing to throw her ball. She is not a fan of other dogs stealing her toys and she has a high prey drive, so small dogs can look a little too fun to chase. Willow loves car rides and sees them as an adventure. Leash walking still needs some work, but she is bright and motivated which makes training easier. She has done well with the two large dogs in her foster home and even plays with the younger one. Willow will thrive in an active home with someone who enjoys engaging a working breed and who has a strong throwing arm. She has so much love and enthusiasm to give and she is ready to make someone very happy. If you think you might be her match, reach out to us for more information.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. December 13, 2025, 11:23 pm

Story
NOT DOG-FRIENDLYChester was picked up as a stray in Baldwinsville and is about 95 pounds. Despite his big size Chester is an easy walker who listens well to redirections, so we think he may have had some decent training previously. He`s also an uber friendly boy who doesn`t mind good treats but would rather receive pets. Which is great for him and people because his fur is so silky smooth and soft!

Story
Eeyore was picked up as a stray in Syracuse and weighs about 54 pounds. He`s a sweet and active boy who walks well on a leash and gets excited about other dogs. Even in his excitement though he tries to remember to take treats nicely. We`re still getting to know Eeyore but we think he`d be a great family dog.

Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     We are delighted to announce the upcoming arrival of tripod Vicki, a charming and energetic 8M old 40lbs  puppy from Egypt, who will be joining our community of handicapped dogs in October. Vicki's history is marked by a traumatic experience, having been rescued from a dire situation involving a severely injured leg infested with maggots and pus, which required amputation to ensure her survival. Happily, Vicki has grown into a sweet and engaging companion, exhibiting strong attachment to her human family and displaying excellent compatibility with both people and dogs.           All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
I have been known to shower my favorite people in love! I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles! I am a medium to high energy dog that LOVES to play fetch. It is my favorite thing in the whole world, aside from eating treats! Watch me play fetch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJREYwEZ-sk This handsome pup is originally from NYCACC - Queens and was a stray so we don't know much about his history; but I've found a few things Dobby loves - hanging out with his human friends; snacking on treats; and playing fetch! On our walks, I don't even need to call his name - I just stop and look at him, and in a few seconds, he's happily enjoying getting his back scratched. He's been just as social and lovey-dovey with other volunteers he's hung out with, too. Though we estimate Dobby to be 4 years old, he has this adorable puppyish look to him, making everything he does ten times cuter - like the way he happily munches away on treats, and how he catches the toy I toss and does a little gallop before carrying it to his bed for some playtime. Dobby knows cues like Sit, Come, Stay and Spin. Dobby is also very attentive and highly treat-motivated. He currently sleeps in the crate at night and whenever his fosters are not at home. If you're looking for an active, happy dog that will love you unconditionally, Dobby would be the perfect match for you! Dobby is vaccinated, neutered and also microchipped. He is believed to be a German Shepherd mix not only because of his appearance but also because he is so intelligent and loyal to the people he loves.
