PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO 🐾 Meet Romy 🐾 Romy is an approximately 4½-month-old German Shepherd mix who is ready to find her forever family. And while we were told “mix”… those ears, that brain, and that personality are telling us there is a whole lot of German Shepherd in this girl. 😂 Romy is beautiful, incredibly intelligent, affectionate, loyal, and FULL of puppy energy. She learns very quickly and is currently working on potty training and basic commands, and she already walks nicely on a leash. She is the kind of dog who genuinely enjoys having something to do. And that is important, because Romy needs a job. She is extremely smart, and a bored Romy will absolutely find her own entertainment. 😂 She will thrive with an active family committed to continued training, exercise, structure, enrichment, and keeping that shepherd brain busy. Romy is good with other dogs, although she can be pushy when first meeting them and her play style can come across as dominant. Once she has had time to settle in and understand the dynamics of the group, she does much better. She is also incredibly people-oriented and loyal — perhaps a little TOO loyal right now. Romy currently has significant separation anxiety. This is something her foster family is actively working on, but it has made crate training difficult. Her future family needs to understand that this will likely require patience, consistency, gradual training, and time. We don’t want to minimize this part of her personality because whoever adopts her needs to be prepared to continue working through it. Because of her breed traits, intelligence, energy level, and expected adult size, German Shepherd/working-breed experience will be a MUST for Romy’s adopter. We will be selective about her placement. She needs someone who understands that a smart, high-drive puppy needs much more than a backyard and a walk around the block. Families with younger children will also need to be considered carefully. Romy is still very much a puppy and is currently jumpy, energetic, and unaware of her own size. As she grows into a large dog, continued training and appropriate boundaries will be especially important around little ones. Underneath all that puppy chaos, though, Romy is an absolute love. ❤️ She can go from running and playing to curling up with you for cuddles, and she has all the makings of an incredibly devoted companion for the right person. Romy isn’t looking for just any home — she’s looking for the RIGHT home. 🐕 Active household 🧠 German Shepherd/working-breed experience required 🎓 Committed to continued training and mental enrichment 🐾 Dog-friendly, with appropriate introductions 🏡 Prepared to work through significant separation anxiety 👧 Young children considered cautiously due to her jumping, energy, and expected size ❤️ Looking for a loyal, intelligent, active companion If you understand shepherds, want a dog who will keep you on your toes, and are ready to put in the work, Romy will give you every bit of that devotion back tenfold. 🐾❤️ She needs to finish her vaccine series and be spayed.
