Story
Booker didn't have the best start in life, but we are determined to make the rest of it the best. Booker loves other dogs, but MUST be dogs his size or larger... no exceptions! He is kenneled trained and housebroken. He is still a little timid of men and kids. Older kids would be best. He will go up to new people, but disengages. Shows absolutely no aggression. He is still learning that he is loves and that he deserves attention. He would like a home on the quieter side. Someone that has patience. He is fantastic with his foster mom. He is being fostered on a farm and is great with most of the animals. He is still learning that sheep are ok and not to be chases. If you think you are the one to give this guy the life he so deserves, please submit an application. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, has been dewormed and flea treated. All current pets MUST be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 Please Note: We are making changes to our Foster to Adopt process. Limited resources to follow up on pending adoptions and delays in processing payments is adding to our financial restrictions. Going forward we will collect payment when the dog is transferred to the potential new owner and will be held for an agreed upon trial time. Exceptions or extended trial times will be considered on a case by case basis and will depend upon the need or situation.

Story
Meet Wheezy — The Definition of “Man’s Best Friend” If the phrase *man’s best friend* needed a picture in the dictionary, Wheezy’s smiling face would be right there beside it. This handsome German Shepherd mix doesn’t just like people — he lives for them. Your shadow? That’ll be Wheezy. Your walking buddy? Wheezy. Your road trip co-pilot, backyard companion, couch-side confidant, and loyal protector? All Wheezy. He has that classic shepherd devotion — the kind that makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Wherever you go, whatever you’re doing, he’s just happy to be included. His heart beats for his people. Wheezy is very dog social and loves making canine friends. He brings an easygoing, friendly energy to other dogs and would thrive with a playful companion or regular doggy social time. He also has cat match potential with proper introductions. This boy is adaptable and ready to fit into the right home. When it comes to families, Wheezy checks every box. Kids? He’s ready to be their loyal sidekick. Adults? He’ll be your steady, faithful companion. Active household or laid-back evenings at home? He’s just happy to be by your side. What makes Wheezy truly special is his presence. He has that rare ability to make a house feel fuller, warmer — more complete. He doesn’t just want a home; he wants *his people*. The ones he can love fiercely, protect proudly, and grow old beside. Wheezy isn’t just looking for a family. He’s looking for his forever best friend.

Story
Adopted LadyBug off craigslist in early January. The individual was not honest about age, training and disposition. She is 6 months old, pure breed German shepherd. We have been working with her and have started dog obediance classes. Unfortunately we have decided that we are not the right people for her. We cannot give her the time and attention she deserves. She is friendly, active and playful. She has shown no aggression aside from barking at our cat who won't play with her. She gets along with the dogs in the training class. We've only briefly had her around children and there wasn't a problem. She barks at strangers and nosies and has trouble settling down when worked up. She isn't a chewer. She is a nipper when worked up and/or playing. These are not bites, they do not hurt, they do not leave marks or scratches. Our trainer said that's normal for shepherds and training is needed for her to stop. Shes very energetic and lovable. She's had a vet visit and is up to date on shots.
