Story
Bear is 9 years old. We took him in about 4 months ago but due to my one year old son being allergic we are having to rehome the sweet guy. He is so gentle and sweet. He will talk back to you and greet you at the door after a long day at work. He is so smart and will talk back with you especially if he has to go potty. He gives you kisses, hand shakes, cuddles and hugs. He also loves to catch a frisbee or ball but can also be one sleepy lazy guy. He will always do what you want to do as long as he is your best friend.

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   NOT IN VPDate into Rescue: 3/4/2024 Reason for being in rescue: breeder release Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Olivia is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Olivia is not hypoallergenic and does shed. Weight: 53 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Olivia requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Olivia has only known life as part of a breeding program. Learning to live as a pet is new to her, but she's learning quickly and doing well. Olivia would do best in a home with another dog so she could learn from them as well as you. She as never lived without canine companions. She will need to be in a house rather than an apartment. Olivia will do well with a single adopter, a couple, or a family. Olivia needs a home where her human will be her constant companion and teacher. Her adopter needs the following in abundance, patience, love, understanding, kindness compassion, forgiveness, calmness and empathy as her develops into a good girl and your life-long loving companion. What is my personality like? Olivia is a strikingly beautiful big girl with one blue eye that gives her stunning look. This lovely lady is looking for an adopter who is home more than they're away. She came to us as a breeder release and was extremely nervous and timid upon arrival. She has blossomed considerably since then, but because most everything is new to her she is still a tad nervous and shy. Olivia pulls when on a leash so she will need leash training She can't help herself, there's just so much new to see in this wonderful world.  Olivia wants to experience it all with you by her side. She will also need to be taught her basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, etc.  Olivia is friendly with people whether a man or a woman. We haven't seen her interact with kids but it's likely she'll do fine with mature kids that understand a dog is not a stuffed animal. Olivia gets along well with other dogs. We are unsure how she does with cats. So far Olivia has not played with toys but her interest in them is growing with each passing day. We expect she'll warm to them quickly when playing with her new family in her forever home. Olivia is simply patiently waiting her for her wonderful new life to start. That won't happen until you come and get her. How do I act when I first meet new people? Olivia does well with both men and women. We have not seen her interact with children, but we expect her to do well with them as well. Olivia will be a wonderful addition to your family. Other tips and tidbits: Olivia was born on 5/14/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. May 6, 2024, 2:16 pm

Yes, Jackie requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Jackie is a nearly two-year old Poodle/German Shepherd mix looking for her forever home. Since she was a breeder release beautiful Jackie needs a home where her human will be her constant companion and teacher. Her adopter needs the following in abundance, patience, love, understanding, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, calmness, and empathy. Jackie requires another dog in the home - for confidence building and behavior modeling. She has never lived without a canine companion. Jackie likes to be in the mix of that goes on and seems fearless. She would do well with a single adopter, or a couple. We haven't seen her interact with children, but our expectation is that she will love kids. After she has had time to settle in and adjust to her new home we expect she'll enjoy playtime with them. Jackie has a lot of hair, and you will need to comb/shed her often.  What is my personality like? Jackie has only known life as part of a breeding program. She's learning what it means to be a companion and likes what she sees so far. Jackie will need leash training as she pulls very hard on her leash. She has a strong herd drive and will weave between your legs to herd you while walking on a leash. She will also need taught her basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, etc.  Jackie needs a little time to warm up to new people, but she loves the attention she gets from them. She enjoys playing with toys so play time with people is best when toys are involved. Jackie gets along well with other big dogs and has done well with the few smaller dogs she's encountered here. We are not sure how she does with cats. She eats well and shows no signs of food guarding. How do I act when I first meet new people? Jackie can be a little nervous upon first meeting people, but she warms up quickly. She does well with both men and women, and we expect her to be fine with kids as well. Just give Jackie some time to adjust and learn and you'll soon be rewarded with a new BFF. Other tips and tidbits: Jackie was born on 6/29/2022. House trained? Story
Help find a home for "Biscuit"! "Biscuit" is a 10-month-old German Shepherd mix. His owners do not want to let him go but feel they must because he is uncomfortable around strangers, children, and cats. They have invested in his training and Biscuit knows basic obedience and plays with other pups at "doggie daycare." Biscuit is young, playful, and healthy. He is neutered. He is currently up to date on all his vaccinations. He receives heartworm medication and is heartworm-negative. He is taking flea prevention, and his veterinary records are available. Biscuit needs a loving home without kittens or children. 🙂 Good Shepherd GSD Rescue's vetting process requires: >References from a veterinarian and neighbors >A fenced-in yard >Owners who have time to invest in him >Owner to sign that he cannot be sold, given away, or transferred without the permission of GSGSDR >Willingness to sign a contract that if neglect or abuse is suspected, he will be returned to GSGSDR >Owners who will consent to a criminal background check to ensure there is no record of child or animal abuse For more information, please email: goodshepherdgsdrescue@gmail.com Thank you for sharing!
