Story
Maggie is 6 years old. She is energetic and loves to play outside. She loves tug-o-war and to play with balls. She would benefit from a home where she’s the only pet or to be rehomed with her brother, and somewhere where she gets lots of exercise or with a yard for her to play in. She’s the perfect dog if you want your personal space but you love a little loving every now and again!

Story
Loki is a pure bred German Shepherd, he is up to date on all his vaccines, he is not neutered. This has been a very hard decision and one that has taken months to decide. German Shepherds are incredible dogs but need someone who has the time and energy to properly exercise them physically and mentally. He is such a smart and loving boy, but I know he deserves more than we can give him. I would ideally place him with someone who has knowledge of GSD or working breeds. He definitely needs a yard that he can run and play. He also loves walks and does well on a leash. He is crate trained but I hope the home he goes to has the ability to let him be out and roam more. He does great with other dogs but his play style is more rough and rowdy because he is a big boy with lots of energy. He loves to cuddle on the couch with his people at the end of the day. He has no behavior issues, but could benefit from some good training. We will be selective on where he goes and are in no rush to re-home.

Story
Meet Blu!  My name is Blu. I’m the bestest boy, am super smart, and love to play, walk, and just chill out at home. Balls and my fluffy kitty stuffy are my favorite toys, and even though I’m a big boy,  I’m very gentle with them because I love them so much. Sometimes I have to take them on walks with my humans so everyone we meet can see how wonderful they are. I’m tall and lanky and walk with the swagger that lets everyone knows I'm the coolest.  Since I was neglected, starved, and left for dead until the nice humans rescued me, I’ve had to learn social skills, but have been working really hard with the humans to use my self-control. I love people so much even after being neglected. I’m just so grateful to be alive! I know how to sit, come when called, and can stay. I would love to learn more commands in my fur-ever home because I’m really smart, loyal, and love treats, so I know I can. I’m a big boy so I need a family looking for a dog my size. I can stand on my hind legs and put my paws on a human's shoulders, but I’ve learned it makes them say the “no” and “get down” words, and I want to please the humans so I work hard to use my self-control. I love older kids, but have never met any little children. I would probably love them too!  My relationship with cats is complicated so I would prefer a cat-free home. My #1 rule…never trust a feline! I’m a happy go lucky dude and have no idea why some dogs want to be alphas. I just let them do their thing and go about my business. I’m a lover, not a fighter. If you ask me, I’m the total package, so don’t miss out on the opportunity for us to be best friends. We could have so much fun together, and I promise I will love and protect you for the rest of my life! He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Blu is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT BLU!! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $300.00 and we require a vet check and home visit. September 30, 2023, 12:31 pm

Story
Meet Buck! Buck is approx. 5.5 years old and about 50 lbs.! Buck is a sweet boy who enjoys going on walks and greeting all of the staff walking by! Buck is good with other dogs, but we do prefer to set up a dog meet and greet before going into a home environment with another dog to see how they would get along. We don't know how he is with cats or kids yet. He is already housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and waiting for his forever home! If you are interested in meeting with or adopting Buck, please submit an adoption application at https://foothillshumanesociety.org/adopt/adoption-application/ and our adoption team will reach out to you for a possible appointment!

Story
My name is Ghiacciaio, which is Italian for the word glacier. I am 11 months old and I weigh 60 lbs. (9/1/23). I am very loving and I never meet a stranger. I greet everyone with a wagging tail! I am also extremely intelligent and a very fast learner. I get along well with other dogs, cats, and children. I love being with my people more than anything! I will choose playing with a person over playing with a toy any day! I am house trained and I ride well in the car. I have a medium energy level and I rarely bark. I look really big in the picture with my person but that is because she is really short. I am a wonderful companion and I would love to have a permanent family to call my very own! I'm heartworm negative and up-to-date on my rabies and dhpp vaccines. I will be seen by a veterinarian before going to my new home. All of my medical records will accompany me. I was rescued by my foster mom from a home environment where I was not abused but not cared for very well. I was only 35 lbs. at 7 months of age when she took me in. Because she has other dogs and has just found out that she is pregnant with her first baby she needs to rehome me. Ghiacciaio is fostered in Danbury, North Carolina but easy, affordable transportation is available if needed. Because our county animal shelter stays full and has a high euthanasia rate, we post our pets in several different locations. We do this to maximize their exposure in hopes of getting our pets adopted as quickly as possible to make room for another unwanted pet. Email is the best method of contact. Applications can be found on our website carolinacaninerescuenc.com Once an application is approved, the foster phone number is provided so that you can learn more about that pet behaviors and personality before making an adoption decision. Story
This is Hawk, a purebred Dutch Shepherd. Great boy, fun, lots of energy, and very playful. I'm working and going to grad school full time, and feel like he is not getting the attention he deserves. Also limited space here in terms of yard, with a neighborhood with strays running around, so walking can sometimes be a challenge, and he has been attacked multiple times. A loving adopter with plenty of room for him to run would be ideal. Love him and don't want to see him go, but want him to have the best life possible.
