Very friendly, dopey giant German shepherd. He’s my brothers Ex’s dog that she left behind when they broke up and he’s just to big for my parents little house and they already had 3 dogs. He’s a gentle giant who deserves more attention and love then he’s getting, great with other dogs even though his size intimidates them and I think he’s good with cats he’s never attacked my parents cat. I believe he would be good with kids but he doesn’t know his own size so he might accidentally hurt smaller kids. Shot history and medical history is unknown but he is healthy.

Meet Vegas — A Second Chance Worth Betting On. Vegas is underweight, skittish, and incredibly submissive - but he has a loyal heart of gold. We can't say whether he's ever been mistreated, but his mannerisms make us wonder if he's spent some time surviving on his own. Despite his fears, Vegas has a wonderfully playful side. He enjoys roughhousing with other dogs and has done well with the canine companions he's encountered during his journey to rescue. He's also a pretty enthusiastic tail-wagger! Vegas wants affection. You can see it. But sometimes he seems genuinely conflicted about whether he should approach or retreat. He'll start toward you, second-guess himself, and then decide that the possibility of getting some love is worth being brave. It's both endearing and a little heartbreaking. After only FOUR DAYS in foster care, he’s cowering less, seeking affection more, and slowly discovering that he doesn't have to spend every moment anticipating something unpleasant. Vegas is also showing signs that being left behind is something he finds particularly difficult. He is non-destructive when left alone - no shredded furniture, no demolished belongings, no household renovations conducted without permission. However, he does vocalize his sadness at being left behind. Today, I left him home with my husband, thinking that having company might make things easier. Vegas had other opinions. He complained. He howled a couple of times. And when I returned, he had a few things to say about my unacceptable absence. My husband is understandably disappointed to discover that he's apparently the spare human. In all seriousness, Vegas is developing an attachment to me, likely because I'm the person spending the most time helping him feel comfortable. He hasn't been here long enough for us to know whether his distress when separated will improve as he settles in, but it's something his future family should understand and be willing to work on. He'll need people who are patient about building his confidence, who can help him gradually learn that departures aren't permanent, and who won't punish him for being frightened or vocal. What does Vegas need? A full belly. A soft bed. A patient heart. And a lifetime of never having to wonder whether he's wanted. After all, this boy has already gambled on trusting us. I'd say he's earned a winning hand. ❤️

Meet Remus! With Robinson's Rescue! This handsome boy is about as sweet and gentle as a dog can get. Remus had quite the stroke of bad luck. He was hit by a car, picked up the shelter as a stray, and then received a euthanasia date due to his leg injury. Thankfully, we pulled him just days before that scheduled euthanasia date. Even though Remus has a limp due to him getting hit by a car, he loves to move and wants to play (as much as he can right now). He also loves his cuddle time! He knows when it is time to settle in and relax - he is all for relaxing! He is good with dogs, cats, and all kinds of people. He knows sit, stay, come and lay down. He is about 4 years old and very well behaved! His leg injury has been deemed to be nerve damage, so we are currently working to see if the nerve can be regenerated via physical therapy and laser therapy. If that does not work, his leg will need to be amputated. For this reason, he is currently available on a foster-to-adopt basis. This means that an adopter would foster him for the rescue group until we finish getting his leg situation fully sorted out. Once that is sorted, his adoption can be finalized. Potential adopters must be prepared to own a tripod dog in case the nerve does not recover. But do not worry, tripod dogs do very well! Remus has so much love to give to the right family and can't wait to meet them!! Fill out the application below to meet this distinguished gentleman!
