Story
Meet Daniel! Daniel is a 6-year-old neutered male German Shorthaired Pointer who came to WGSPR as an owner surrender. This sweet boy is good with other dogs and is slowly blossoming into a loyal, loving companion. When Daniel first arrived, he was very shy and timid, but he has made wonderful progress in his foster home. He has formed strong bonds with his foster family—especially his foster mom—and continues to gain confidence every day. Daniel can still be nervous around new people, unfamiliar dogs, and loud noises, so he’ll do best with a patient adopter who can give him time to adjust. He loves going for walks and walks nicely on a leash, though loud trucks or sudden noises can startle him. At home, Daniel enjoys carrying around his favorite toys and knows how to sit. He’s starting to show his playful side, wagging his tail more often and even showing interest in backyard critters like frogs! Daniel has learned his yard boundaries very well with an invisible fence and comes when called. He is not as fast as some GSPs, which—combined with his recall—makes him a bit less of a flight risk than expected. He has not been trained for hunting. He is fully crate trained at night and sleeps soundly. During the day, he is still working on being comfortable in his crate and may bark or have accidents if left too long. He does best with structure and gentle guidance. Daniel is mostly house-trained but may have accidents in unfamiliar parts of the home, so a gradual introduction to new spaces is recommended. Daniel thrives in a home where someone is around often, as he loves companionship and routine. A suburban or country home with a yard where he can safely run would be ideal for him. We are unsure how he would do with very young children, but with proper introductions, he may do well. Daniel is a sensitive, devoted dog who just needs the right person to help him continue building confidence. In return, he will offer unwavering loyalty and love.     ##2714909##

Story
Hi I am Tucker! Let’s just talk about the elephant in the room right away, check out my amazing derriere! That’s right, I am a proud lifelong member of the all-natural tail club, woop woop! And its thick, long, and powerful. I am ½ GSP, ¼ labrador retriever, and ¼ unknown hound, and absolutely, positively, undeniably 100% AMAZING! Make no mistake, I am the triple threat of three excellent dog breeds! My foster mom says I am the total package and am her favorite of any fosters or pet sitting doggos she has ever cared for. I am beyond brilliant! I get my beautiful, good looks from my GSP genes. My coat is more on the labby side of hair, especially the white, where my liver hair is characteristic of GSP, resulting in me being a medium shedder. Also true to the GSP traits, I love hard and am well above the Velcro rating of loyalty to my chosen one. I do not like to be without my person. Therefore, another dog in the household or those that are home most of the time would be a better fit for me. I am the sweetest, gentlest, goofiest, giant love bug who acts well more polished and mature than a 20-month old puppy. I am not the typical GSP crazy. I do enjoy a game of fetch with any toy, tug toys, and chase games with my other household dogs. I do enjoy nose work and daily walks, but I have a pretty quick off switch, as I am laid back. I have not had any accidents in my foster home, have not destroyed anything, nor gotten into any mischief. Amazingly, I do not mark either, as I arrived unfixed. I get along swimmingly with other dogs, was cat friendly; kid savvy in my old life, love all people, but CANNOT be around poultry, as my foster mom’s experiment of introducing me to birds led to a chicken with a docked tail, I call it my version of a German shorthaired chicken. I am very birdy. I have so much potential to be a hunting machine, but I definitely would prefer loving up on you and giving you my sweet kisses on your lips. You will, in return, have to give up on any personal boundaries on Day 1. I am the most intuitive empath you will ever find, have top notch recall skills, and know most commands. I am leash trained, house trained, e-collar trained, ride like a champion in the car, and crate trained. Oopsies, here is where I will admit, I don’t love the crate, especially for sleeping arrangements. If you do not let me sleep close to you, I will serenade you the entire night long with my big ole hound voice (this is where the ¼ hound comes in). I can also get vocal if you do not throw my toy either. But beyond that, I am not vocal. Those of you that are lab lovers who want to try a GSP out for the first time, take me! For fellow natural tail club members, choose me! If you are looking for someone to love your kiddos as a great family dog, pick me! If you want me to be your companion, apply for me! If you need someone to protect you and your loved ones, how about me! If you want a stress-free perfect addition right from the start, LOVE ME! - - Tucker. ##2714914##

Story
Hi, I’m Mia    I’m about a year old, still very much a puppy, and just a little thing with a big heart. I have a playful, energetic personality and absolutely love chasing a ball and spending time with my foster brother and sister. I do great with other dogs and enjoy being part of the pack. I’ve also done well with kids, but I haven’t been tested with cats yet.   Like many young pups, I can be a little mischievous—I’ve been known to counter surf and occasionally “borrow” toys, and socks and jump on everything—but I’m eager to learn and thrive with guidance and consistency.   I’m incredibly sweet, cuddly, and love being close to my people. Whether it’s relaxing in my foster mom and dad’s lap or following you from room to room (yes, even the bathroom!), I just want to be near my family.   I’m crate trained and currently working on my house training with my foster dad. Sometimes I get so excited to play outside that I forget to take care of business first, but I’m making progress every day.   If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and fun-loving companion, I might be your girl  ##2684089##
