Story
Clover and her siblings were found in an abandon house after at least 5 days of no food or water. Most of the dogs on the property were small to medium terrier mixes - but we are thinking maybe a neighbor dog came to visit. We don't know which dogs Clover belonged to and she looks more German Short Hair Pointer. She is the sweetest little dog and wants to be someone's shadow. She follows her foster momma around asking to be picked up and snuggled. She is ready to find her FurEver with a family to love and room to run and play. We don't know which dogs Lucky belonged to and he looks more German short haired pointer. Lucky got his name because we weren't sure he was going to survive what had happened. But thanks to the shelter manager and some amazing volunteers he pulled through and is thriving today! He is full of spunk and loves a good belly rub! He is ready to find his FurEver with a family to love and room to run and play. You can apply to adopt Lucky at www.bemyfurevers.com/adopt ##1817100##

NO LONGERING ACCEPTING ANY NEW APPLICATIONS. We will processing the applications we have received so please watch from emails from our adoption coordinator if you applied for her.    Willow is ALL puppy! She loves to play and that is her #1 priority right now. She loves to play with any kind of toy but have found that the tug-of-war type toys she can play with another dog are her favorite. She has been great with every dog she has met. Big, small, male or female. She just wants to play and she will play hard! It has really helped getting her energy out having other dogs in the home to play with. They will play hard for a few hours and then she crashes. WHer fosters are working on leash manners. Right now, she has places to be so she will pull on her leash. Her foster would recommend a harness. Like all puppies, she LOVES to chew and will chew on anything she can get her mouth on. We redirect her to her toys and chew bones and she does great. Just have to be careful because everything is in the mouth with this one and she is fast! She is great with people of all ages and kids. Just keep in mind she still has her puppy teeth so she needs to be watched closely around the kiddos. When she sees a kid run she thinks they are playing and will chase and grab on to clothes. She just needs consistent training and patience but she is a smart girl and learns fast. She is very food motivated. She gets really excited about food and would keep eating if we let her. We feed her in a slow feed bowl twice a day and is fed in her kennel. She will go after the other dog’s food if she has the chance. She is doing great with kennel training and potty training. She is a sweetheart with a fun personality. Just needs patience and training and the sky is the limit with this one!! ##1771304##

Story
Rosie came back to rescue after her adopters decided she was not a fit for their family.  She was good with the house cats but not the barn cats.  They also decided that they wanted a dog that gets along with other dogs. Rosie has been in a board and train for the past few weeks to foucs on a lot of foundational work to build upon like structure, obedience, manners, impulse control and boundaries. Rosie's trainer will continue to work with her new family upon her adoption if needed. Rosie is a very sweet girl. She craves human interaction and contact and will follow you wherever you go so she doesn’t miss anything. She is great with kids, but she can be an aggressive snuggler and kisser with small children.   She has settled in well with her foster and enjoys exploring the yard and walks and snuggling on the couch or in bed when inside.   She has a fantastic nose and is VERY food driven. As such, she is a world class counter surfer and her owner will have to be very vigilant in keeping food out of her reach at the beginning.  She has gotten much better in her short stay with the foster with simple commands like No and Down and she could be trained to an acceptable level with long term correction given her desire for that next treat.   She is wary of strange dogs. Her first inclination is to avoid them but after getting some level of comfort she will tentatively sniff and be somewhat accepting of their presence. She is not at all aggressive but may get defensive with overly exuberant dogs that make contact with her or bark in her face. We are requiring she be an ONLY dog.  She is OK with cats and just ignores them. She definitely should not go to a home that has chickens or any other type of birds.   Rosie shows little interest in toys or playing fetch. She will chew on hard toys and bones occasionally. She is an OK running partner but likes to stop and smell the roses occasionally so she’s perfect for a beginning or casual runner. She also walks very well on a leash and rarely pulls. She was trained for bird hunting and would very much enjoy an owner that gets her out hunting.   She is potty trained very well and can go long periods of time without going outside. She is crate trained but she may bark regularly while in there. She has earned the right at the foster to have free run of the house (minus the kitchen) during the day and has not had any accidents or issues yet.   The perfect home for Rosie is an active family with children over 6 yrs old where someone is usually around so she is not regularly left alone for long periods of time. A house with a fenced in yard or rural lot with room to explore would be great. If you fit this, please give Rosie a chance and you will be rewarded with all the dog love you can handle! ##1496986##

Story
Meet Kilo.  He originally came from Hungrary to become a police dog in the US.  He did not pass police dog training due to him loving people more than working.  He came into rescue due to the person who had him did not have time for him since they were an active police officier and did not feel that it was fair to him. Kilo is a large puppy at heart even though he is 3 years old and still needs fine tuning of his obedience skills.  He never got to be a puppy so he is still learning basic obedience skills and we have him currently working with a trainer.  The trainer is also working with him on birds to sharpen his hunting skills. Kilo loves to play fetch with tennis balls. He loves car rides. He is very playful and wants to play until he wants to snuggle. Kilo loves people but he could knock over little kids if they are not dog savvy. He is also learning to not jump when meeting people. He very affectionate and loves everyone. Kilo will need a family that will be consistent with his training and make him earn his fun.  Our trainer will be meeting the potential families and pick who is the best fit for Kilo. The trainer has been working with him on his barking when left alone since he is showing some separation anxiety.  He has already much improved on his crate training and barkign when left alone.  He no longer barks when left alone. ##1752650##
