Adoption Donation: $500 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. As a puppy mill survivor, Petunia is still adjusting to a world that is very new to her. She may be shy or unsure when first meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she is beginning to show her softer, more trusting side. Petunia is crate trained, which helps her feel secure, but she is not yet house trained and will need a patient family willing to help her continue learning with consistency and kindness. In her previous environment, Petunia lived around children and did well with other dogs. With slow, proper introductions, she would likely also do well with cats. Watching a puppy mill survivor discover the comforts of a home is a gradual but incredibly rewarding process. Every small step forward—whether it’s relaxing nearby, exploring a new space, or seeking out reassurance—represents meaningful progress.
