We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
He is just under 2 years old. Very playful and energetic. He listens to multiple commands. Very obedient and house trained. Hasn’t had much time with bird hunting. However, very natural with stalking, pointing, etc if wanted to give him a little training he would be great. We bought him from a GSP breeder. At the time we got him I had 3 older kids at home to help with him. Their plans changed and all of my kids moved away to attend school. We will very much hate to see him go. However, it is very important that we find him a great home. We aren’t looking to get rid of him, but find him a new family. Gorgeous dog. Everywhere we go people rave what a great looking obedient dog.

Story
Lily`s owners are looking for a new home for her and have provided this information about her:Meet our loyal German Shorthaired Pointer/Pitbull, a vigilant protector of our home. Despite her strong bark to ward off any perceived threats, she`s wonderfully submissive when the situation calls for it. She`s mastered the commands `paw` and `sit,` especially when food is involved. Her boundless energy is matched only by her love for toys and her favorite peanut butter treats. She gets extremely excited around other dogs but when going for a walk she needs a bit more training when it comes to leashes. She has the most beautiful brown eyes that look just like honey. So as long as she has a spacious yard, a toy and food she will be the happiest dog you`ll ever meet.weight: about 55 poundsgood with dogs: YEScats: UNKNOWNkids: UNKOWNhouse-trained: YESspecial needs: NOexperienced adopter: YESfenced yard needed: YESLily~born~4/9/20_____Standard and Special Breed adoption fees includes age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip! Please use these links for our:Online Adoption Application: paawarren.org/adopt/adoption-application-formWebsite for details, info: paawarren.org***PAAW’s Cat Café is now open in Farmington Hills! Story
This is Zoey! This sweet girl is quickly winning over all of the volunteers hearts ? This is mom to the Flintstones litter that we had earlier in the year. She was with a homeless man that could not care for her anymore ? This girl has stories as you can tell when you look into her eyes. Zoey was a bit shy at first but after tossing a ball across the yard she sprang into action and was quickly playing a game of fetch! She even will drop the ball for you to keep throwing it. She has been non reactive to the dogs in the kennel and she did live with a canine buddy at her previous residence. Zoey listens very well, knows sit, shake, walks decent on leash, and keeps her kennel clean. Zoey rides very well in the car and is lower energy. Looking for a chill girl that will want to be your shadow? A friend for another middle aged dog? Let's hook up and see if this girl is a match!! Zoey is a German Shorthaired Pointer mix, 50 lbs, and approximately 4 years old. She has a receding gum line, missing teeth, and a underbite which adds to her cute looks! ? UTD on vet care On monthly prevention No cat history Has lived with a dog in the past Children 8+ $100 sponsored toward her adoption fee Adoption fee is $175 https://www.parpets.org/adoption-application.html to get your preapproved application in! You can come meet Zoey and her PAR friends on Saturday during open hours from 10am-1pm or let us know if you'd like to set up a meet and greet at your convenience.
