Story

Porter is a 7 year old pointer/pit mix. She was born in Alabama and flown to a shelter in Orlando that specializes in saving dogs from high kill shelters. Porter was adopted when she was 10 weeks old and has been a companion dog to the same family her whole life. Porter was spayed too young and had incontinence and frequent UTIs as a puppy. Taking a hormone medication has decreased the frequency of UTIs and she has been able to successfully wean off of this medication with age. She has not taken it for two years now. Porter needs a family who would be able to afford and prioritize her urinary health if she ever had UTIs or needed to take hormones due to incontinence with age. Porter is a very affectionate dog. She would do best with older children or no children at all. She is very high energy and would do best with lots of space to run. Porter is extremely friendly with adults but does not like being out in public or in busy places, she’d prefer to stay home with you.
