Oscar Podrick

German Shorthaired Pointer Hound (Unknown Type)

Male, 8 yrs 6 mos
Council Bluffs, IA
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Being a German Shorthair & Hound mix, you can imagine that ol' Oscar Podrick is a lover of the outdoors! This sweet boy was born in May of 2015 and is still looking for a place to call his own. Oscar enjoys being around people, especially ladies, but he understands what it's like to need some space: your time, my time, and our time! Oscar experiences anxiety and, because of this, boundaries are important to him. When his anxiety is low, Oscar is a goofy, playful boy who likes to chase balls, sticks, and rabbits. He loves, loves, loves long walks with plenty of time to let his hound nose get some exercise, and lots of exercise helps work off that extra energy that can make this handsome boy nervous! Because of his love for exploration, Oscar will need a fenced in yard to keep him close to home. Oscar is not kennel trained but is totally fine being left to lounge around the house while you're away; he's also housetrained so no worries about that business! Oscar is a very smart dog who knows "sit" "stay" "lay down" "leave it" and he also knows that when he follows these fun words he gets really yummy treats! Oscar's ideal home will be with an active person/couple who loves to explore nature, just like he does, and who will love him like family while respecting his need for boundaries and independence! The suggested adoption donation for Oscar is $315.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. German Shorthaired Pointer

Male, Young
Lincoln, NE
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
My name is Dallas, and I am a sweet Texas boy seeking my forever home! My perfect human or (humans) should be ready to take me on lots of adventures and will be happy to know that I am doing very good with walking on a leash. They will also need to be able to keep up with my big energy and puppy playfulness! I will need a home with a fenced yard with lots of room to run. I cannot live in an apartment; I wouldn't be happy without my own yard to romp and play fetch in – and I am a very good fetcher! My foster mom says I am a quick learner. I can sit, lay down, and can stay, though that last one is a little hard for me when I get excited about things! I think I could probably learn some other cool things too if my forever family wants to teach me! I’ve also been getting the hang of the whole potty-training thing. My foster parents tell me to “go potty” when I go outside, and I know what they mean. I try to take care of that as soon as possible so I can move on to more fun things! I really enjoy playing with the other dogs in my foster home and think it would be great to have a dog to play with in my forever home too. I also keep trying to befriend the cats in my foster home, but they don’t seem to like me very much – I can’t understand why!? It’s not my favorite thing, but I am also doing well staying in a kennel when I must, even all through the night with no issues. Boy, I can’t wait to stretch my legs in the yard every morning though! I'm still a pup and want to share my days & nights with very own person or family. If my other qualities haven’t sold you on me, then I guess I’ll have to bring up my good looks too! Have you seen my photos? Checked out my handsome smile? What adventures await us? I'm ready to go! Dallas is a male German Shorthair Pointer. He was born approximately 12-14-22 and weighs 51 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease and started on heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment. Our website is updated daily, pets that are listed are still available. ***If you are serious about adopting, you must first complete and submit an application on our website.
