Story
🐾 Meet Hulk! Hulk is approximately 11 months old, 47 lbs, and the biggest of his litter — hence the name! 💚 Hulk and his siblings Wanda, Peggy, Black Widow, Nebula, and Thor were found at a construction site in South Texas along the Mexico border. They were among multiple dogs at the site, hungry, exhausted, and looking defeated. Thankfully, all six puppies and several of the other dogs were rescued and brought to a safe sanctuary, where they have been thriving since March 2026. After months at the sanctuary, Hulk has blossomed into a happy, social, goofy, confident, and incredibly lovable young dog who is ready for a family of his own. Hulk is looking for an active home and a family who wants a four-legged adventure buddy. Hiking? Absolutely. Exploring? Yes, please! Playing with other dogs? He’s all in. He has plenty of puppy energy and would love a home where he can get lots of exercise, playtime, enrichment, and continued training. But don't let his energy fool you — Hulk also knows how to relax. In his kennel, especially when paired with his friend Robin, he is calm and comfortable. Once he's out, though, he is ready to run, play, splash in the kiddie pool, and have some fun! 💚 Hulk's Personality Loves all humans and happily greets strangers Extremely affectionate and loves getting pets Very sweet and loves belly rubs Goofy, confident, playful, and fun Loves following his people around Very food motivated… although he's still learning that treats are supposed to help you sit, not simply disappear! 😂 Loves toys, sticks, and especially stealing work gloves Obsessed with water and loves getting wet Enjoys running and playing Has plenty of puppy energy Crate trained Social and friendly Would be wonderful with children Can live with other dogs and would love canine playmates Could also be perfectly happy as the only dog Does well with cats with proper introductions Hulk has a particularly hilarious weakness: garden and work gloves. If someone at the sanctuary leaves a pair hanging around, Hulk considers them a fair game. He is also obsessed with sticks — one foster was cleaning up the property with a handful of sticks, and Hulk immediately decided they belonged to him. 😂 So if you're looking for a dog who will help with yard work… Hulk has some very specific ideas about what that means! 🏊‍♂️ Water Dog Extraordinaire Hulk absolutely loves water. If there is a kiddie pool available, he's probably going to be in it. He loves splashing, getting wet, and generally making sure everyone knows that water is meant to be enjoyed. 🏡 What Hulk Needs Hulk is still a young dog and will need consistent, positive training to help him become the best version of himself. He is still working on his leash skills and basic manners, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working with him as he grows. He would thrive with an active person or family who wants to take him on adventures, provide plenty of exercise and enrichment, and include him in their daily life. He's a short-to-medium-sized guy — not exactly tall, but definitely solidly built! At 47 lbs, Hulk is the biggest of the litter and is, shall we say, a little big-boned. 😂 He is not exactly the easiest dog to pick up and carry around, so fortunately, he much prefers keeping his four paws on the ground anyway! Most importantly, Hulk is a loving, happy young dog who has come so far since the day he was found. He went from a hungry, defeated puppy at a construction site to a confident, playful, affectionate dog who is ready to discover what life with a family is really like. If you're looking for a goofy, lovable, energetic companion who will happily follow you around, steal your gloves, chase sticks, splash in the water, and shower you with affection… Hulk might just be your guy. 💚🐾 Hulk is neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. Story
MEET TUX — NORTH JERSEY Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue has stepped up to help Tux’s owner carefully screen potential adopters and find the best possible next home for this very special boy. Tux is a handsome two-year-old Dalmatian/Llewellin Setter mix weighing approximately 45–50 pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated, house-trained and crate-trained. Tux’s story began when he and his six siblings were found emaciated and being sold by a homeless individual in a Jersey City park. His owner stepped in, helped all seven puppies recover, found appropriate homes for the others and kept Tux. Because Tux did not originate from a breeder, shelter or rescue, there is no organization for his owner to return him to. Fast-forward two years, and significant changes in his owner’s work schedule, professional responsibilities and travel requirements have led him to explore whether another environment could better meet Tux’s long-term needs. This is not an emergency placement, and Tux will not be surrendered to a shelter. He remains safe and loved in his current home while we search for an exceptional match. If that home is not found, Tux will remain with his owner. Tux is affectionate, playful, curious and extremely devoted to his person. He loves following his owner around the house, playing fetch, visiting the dog run, enjoying short bursts of zoomies and settling in for plenty of couch time. Although he enjoys activity, he is not continuously high-energy. He often sleeps for long stretches and is generally calm and relaxed indoors. Tux knows sit, place, paw, kiss, lay down, come and bedtime. He waits for permission before eating and responds beautifully to positive reinforcement using kibble or treats. Continued positive-reinforcement training will help him become an even more confident, well-rounded dog. He can remain home alone and will generally settle on the bed and sleep. His current routine includes bathroom breaks approximately every four hours. He is crate-trained, although he currently sleeps in his own bed at the foot of his owner’s bed—and politely waits to be invited up in the morning. Tux generally enjoys other dogs and likes playing with them. No aggression toward people, children or other dogs has been observed. Any resident dog will require a proper introduction and compatibility meeting. Tux has also been around children, but because he is a strong, enthusiastic 45–50-pound dog who may jump up when excited, interactions with children should be appropriately supervised. The most important thing to understand about Tux is that he is sensitive to loud, fast-moving and unpredictable urban environments. Large trucks, motorcycles, heavy traffic and busy roads can frighten him. His response is to move away, tuck his tail or seek safety near his person—not to bark, lunge or confront the trigger. In busy public places, he may stay close or position himself beneath a chair or table until he feels secure. We believe Tux would thrive in a quieter residential or suburban setting with a patient person or family who will provide consistency, reassurance, exercise and continued training. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, although the overall quality and suitability of the home will be the most important consideration. Tux is located in the Jersey City/Hoboken area of New Jersey. Chelsea’s Hope Boxer Rescue will assist his owner in screening applicants, checking references and arranging appropriate introductions.   https://chboxerrescue.com/adopt/ September 24, 2026, 10:39 am
