Story
🐾 Meet Pal 🐾Purebred German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP)Pal is a male, ~6-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer looking for a breed-savvy, active family. At just 6 months old, he already weighs 51 lbs and is not done growing—adult male GSPs can reach up to 80 lbs. He’s young, strong, and full of potential.Pal is mostly house trained, with the occasional puppy accident. He tolerates being crated, has lived with other dogs and did great, and while he has not lived with cats, he has seen outdoor cats—due to his natural instincts, moving cats could be very tempting to chase. 🐱➡️🏃‍♂️He has not lived with children but has been around kids under 5 and did fine. That said, Pal is energetic, strong, and still learning his manners, so families should be mindful that he doesn’t yet realize how easy it is to knock little ones over.Like most puppies, Pal loves to chew, so adopters should be prepared to provide appropriate chew items and continue teaching him the difference between his belongings and yours. 😄✨ About the Breed – German Shorthaired Pointer:GSPs are friendly, intelligent, loyal, eager to please, and highly energetic. They thrive with active families who enjoy outdoor adventures. They are natural pointers, excellent swimmers (thanks to webbed feet!), have a strong prey drive, and often excel in dog sports.⚡ Needs & Care:Exercise: Extremely high energy—requires vigorous daily exercise (running, hiking, swimming) to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors.Training: Highly trainable but needs consistent training, structure, and mental stimulation to succeed.🩺 Pal is:✔️ Vaccinated✔️ On flea & tick prevention✔️ On heartworm prevention✔️ Will be Lyme tested✔️ Will be Rabies vaccinated✔️ Will be neutered & microchipped prior to adoption⚠️ Neutering is required💲 Adoption fee: $325Pal will thrive in a home that understands the energy, intelligence, and drive of the GSP breed and is ready to invest time, exercise, and training into helping him grow into an amazing adult dog. 🧡🐶You can apply on our website www.highlandhumanesociety.org OR stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Monday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before we close to ensure we have time to do the adoption.

✨ Meet Yin Yin ✨Yin Yin is a female, almost 2 years old, and weighs 35 lbs—a perfect, full-grown size! She rides great in the car, is very dog-social, and absolutely loves people. We haven’t seen her with cats yet, and while we haven’t observed her around kids, families are welcome to bring their children to meet her.Yin Yin settled into a weekend foster home incredibly quickly, showing just how adaptable and easygoing she is. As for breed? We’re guessing maybe an English Pointer mix (with one or more mystery ingredients). But honestly—if “sweet and wonderful” were a breed, that would be Yin Yin’s. 💕🩺 Medical & Care Info:✔️ Spayed✔️ Heartworm & Lyme negative✔️ Vaccinated (including Rabies)✔️ On heartworm prevention✔️ Flea & tick prevention✔️ Microchipped💲 Adoption fee: $225Yin Yin is ready to find her forever home—and whoever gets her will be very lucky. 🐶💖You can apply on our website www.highlandhumanesociety.org OR stop into the shelter 12- 5 pm Monday through Friday or 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday to meet who is available at that time.
