Story
Meet Duck, a young, energetic dog who brings joy to everyone around him. He`s friendly, playful, and always ready for a cuddle or a new adventure. He weighs 30 pounds and likes running, tugging, toys, walks, chase, wrestling, and water. He knows the sit and no commands. Despite his boisterous and intense personality, Duck is incredibly sweet and lovable. He`s curious about the world, which makes him a bit excitable, but he`s also protective and affectionate. Duck is in need of some training (leash walking and house training), but with his eagerness to please, he`ll quickly become the perfect companion. He`s the epitome of a social butterfly, always eager for companionship and playful interactions. Duck enjoys frolicking with familiar canine friends but can be a bit shy around new dogs. Of course, being a loud chatterbox, he doesn`t hesitate to bark at unfamiliar dogs. He doesn`t like being alone and has no experience with children. In his original owner`s home, he was friendly and cautious around cats but had limited experience. He was given up because they didn`t have enough time for him and he didn`t get enough food so he may be possessive of his meals. He has gained eight pounds since coming to CAP. Duck`s boundless energy and loving nature make him the ideal addition to any home looking for a loyal friend. (tw 11/28/2025)

Story
Meet Neo! Neo is a nearly 2-year old pit-hound mix who loves love and food! Neo is a sweet boy that is looking for his fur-ever home. He is crate trained and does great in the house. He takes a little bit to warm up to other dogs, but he loves people. He is an excellent leash walker and knows a couple of simple commands. He has been raised around cats, but would do best in a home as an only pet. He has also been raised around both adults and children. He is an active boy that needs some space to run or a human buddy to run with and play fetch. He tries really hard to make his people happy!I went for a weekend sleepover through our foster program, here is what my foster family has to say about me: `He is such an amazing pup! Great leash walker, loved my 10-year old, and did awesome in the house and in his kennel! He is playful (eventually), sweet, and loving. He did take a while to warm up to my dogs, but my dogs were not very welcoming at first, so definitely not on him.`Interested in taking a dog on a weekend sleepover? Email Foster@houstonhumane.org
