Story
Pogo is a one year old, male, Pointer/Dalmatian mix. He is very energetic and loves to jump up and down. So he gained the name Pogo. He does not get along with unfixed male dogs. It is unknown how he will do with other dogs and cats. He has very high energy and needs daily walks or room to run around. He loves to play and get attention. If he is left alone he will bark, so he does have separation He is still at the stage of loving to tear things up. He will need either to be walked by leash and supervised if you do not have a fence. If you have a fence it needs to be at least 6 feet or taller. He will have his rabies vaccines and if you live local, you will get a voucher to get him fixed for free. You will have to pay for the option of pain meds and cone. You will have 30 days to get him fixed. If he is not fixed within those 30 days. Palacios Animal Care Services has the right to pick him back up. He will also be microchipped and we will register it for you. Adoption fee is $90. If interested in adopting or a rescue transfer, please contact Palacios Animal Care Services at 361-404-0265.

Story
John Robert was dumped on a major highway w/ 2 companions in very poor condition in 2022. His personality has come to shine through which is quite gentlemanly. John Robert does get along with other dogs but prefers to be around humans. He has a playful side that comes out, but simply loves walking and packing with said human (s). His preference would be as the only dog in and 'adult' type home since he is so chill. Rides great in a vehicle. Polite on leash and is all in all very calm. Does not care to share meals or treats.

Story
Sabino (aka Beano) is a fun loving guy. Voted most likely to be your ride or die, he doesn't start trouble but he'll help in any way he can. As a wing man, he's the one to always watch your six. Beano would do best in an active home, either with another four-legged playmate or fun-loving family members. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm negative. Fun fact - his left eye is about 1/4 light blue. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website at www.hhfrescue.org.

Story
Meet Snoopy Snoopy’s story is one we will never forget. When we found him at the shelter, he was heartbreakingly thin — little more than skin and bones — and clearly had not been shown much kindness in his life. Yet even in the middle of his own fear and uncertainty, Snoopy stood protectively by his kennel mate, quietly trying to keep them both safe. That told us everything we needed to know about his heart. This striking black-and-white pointer mix is expected to be around 40–50 pounds once he regains weight and finally gets the care he deserves. He's about 2 years old. Despite everything he has endured, Snoopy remains incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager for love. He just wants someone to sit beside him, reassure him, and show him that the world can still be good. Snoopy has survived neglect. He has survived fear. Now he deserves the chance to truly live — with a family who will never let him feel unwanted again. Won’t you be the one to give Snoopy the happy ending he has waited so patiently for?May 21, 2026, 11:45 am
