Story
Hi, my name is Jimmy and I am from Arkansas. This sweet 13-year-old gentleman is the definition of a good boy. He is potty trained, crate trained, and wonderfully dog-friendly. He has been absolutely lovely with small children, even babies, showing a calm, gentle nature that makes him a joy to have around. When left home alone, he’s so well behaved that he doesn’t even need to be crated, though he truly enjoys having his crate as a cozy spot for naps and would happily use it anytime. Though his face may be silver, his spirit is still bright and youthful! He has the enthusiasm of a much younger dog, paired with the wisdom of age. His legs sometimes remind him he’s a senior, especially on stairs or when he gets excited, so a home with patience and a little extra support would be ideal. He appears to be partially deaf and can be startled if approached unexpectedly, but he does hear louder sounds and navigates the world just fine with visual cues and consistency. He prefers gentle handling and doesn’t enjoy having his shoulders, legs, or paws touched, but he has never shown aggression — simply communicating his boundaries in a polite, respectful way. This kind, affectionate old soul would thrive in a loving home that appreciates senior dogs for the treasures they are. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion with a heart of gold, this distinguished gentleman is ready to meet you.

Meet Rocky!  Rocky is a lovable 9-month-old, 60-pound doodle/wolfhound mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He recently made his way from Arkansas after being saved from a high-kill shelter, and he’s been showing everyone just how special he is ever since. Rocky is mostly potty trained and already knows to go to the door when he needs to head outside—such a smart boy! He walks nicely on a leash, does great in the car, and slept well in a crate overnight, making him well on his way to being a fantastic, well-rounded companion. With a little time and consistency, he’s only going to keep improving. This happy guy loves other dogs and is super playful, always ready for a fun romp with his canine friends. He adores kids and people of all ages and truly just wants to be everyone’s buddy. Rocky can get excited and may jump up to say hello, but he’s already learning boundaries and eager to please. He has met a cat and shown interest in wanting to play, so continued supervision and introductions would be best. Rocky would do best with another dog in the house or with his human around more often than not - when left alone, he is often very vocal about missing his people! Rocky is affectionate, energetic, and full of joy—he’s the kind of dog who brings smiles wherever he goes.
