He is on medication but takes his meds easily with pill pouches. He is good in the car and loves going on walks and enjoying the outdoors! From the Vet: While Gilbert has some medical considerations for an adopter, namely his seizure history, however he is very well managed on his medication. We hope despite him being in his golden years and his medical needs he will find a perfect forever home with a family that will love his handsome floofy self!

Hi, I'm Carmelito, a big-hearted guy with an even bigger smile! When I first arrived, I was pretty nervous and unsure of everything, but once I learned I was safe, my sweet personality started to shine. These days, I'm incredibly loving and affectionate with my family. In fact, I firmly believe I'm a lap dog—even if my size says otherwise! I love snuggling on the couch, and at bedtime you'll usually find me curled up right next to my favorite people. I'm an active boy who loves getting outside to burn off some energy. Running around with my dog friends, playing chase, going for walks, and chewing on stuffed or durable chew toys are some of my favorite things. I'm also known for being a little clumsy, and I have a habit of tumbling around on the couch that always makes people laugh. I'm house-trained, rarely have accidents, and I walk nicely on a harness, making me a great companion for daily adventures. Because I'm still building my confidence, I'll need patient, slow introductions to new people—especially men. I do well with other dogs and respect their boundaries, but I'm still working on some resource guarding around toys, treats, and food, so I'll need continued training and management in those situations. My happiest moments are spent with my people, enjoying a good chew toy and feeling safe. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and are willing to help me continue learning and growing, I know I'll reward you with endless love, cuddles, and my adorable, goofy grin. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue.
