Story
A portion of Daisy's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. Hi I'm Daisy! From the Foster: Daisy is one of the most incredible dogs I have ever known. Anyone would be lucky to have her in their life, and in the right environment, Daisy shines more than any dog I have ever known. The key for Daisy is to set her up for success, and the right environment is going to be the first step. Daisy is a typical husky when it comes to her hilarious personality, intelligence and vocal nature. She also loves to sing the songs of her ancestors and bring out her stubborn side, especially when asked to come inside in the middle of a snowstorm. Daisy has some anxiety and reactivity to noises, commotion, and other dogs. Living in a quieter environment will be key to helping her have a more relaxed approach to daily life and not have all the noises of things like city life right outside her door, making her on high alert. This means no shared walls for sure, and a space that is a bit more private. A private fenced-in yard? A more rural home without close neighbors? Some land she can sniff and explore? Yes!! This would be Daisy's dream :). Daisy is also dog selective. This means she needs to decide which dogs she wants to be friends with, allowing the proper time and space to do so. She won't be a dog park kind of dog, or a social butterfly at dog-friendly breweries, etc. She prefers male dogs, has bonded very well with previous male puppies we've fostered, and is the best of friends with my male husky mix. She is not cat friendly, so a home without cats is ideal. I would love to see Daisy with an adopter who understands her needs when it comes to her reactivity and anxiety; someone who is open to continuing to help her with training, but who also understands that this is part of who Daisy is. She's a wonderful girl and has come so far while with me, and I'm sure will continue to improve in lessening her anxiety and reactivity. Daisy would love an active family who wants to do all the things with their doggy BFF like hiking trails, checking out camping sites, and going for runs in the snow. She would love to try skijoring, bikejoring, canicross, agility, etc. It takes a little extra planning to do all these things in a place where she can be more comfortable and not surrounded by a lot of other people and dogs, but that little extra planning is so worth it!! Daisy's favorite moments are when she's outside in a private environment where she can feel safe and at peace. She is a frequent visitor of SniffSpots and other spaces she can enjoy by herself or with her foster brother. To sum it up, Daisy needs someone who is open to meeting her where she is at, and someone who sees and truly believes that Daisy is worth it because she really is. Daisy will change your life for the better if you let her. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $200.00 will be applied during the contract process!

Story
Hi, my name is Jacob and I was an owner surrender. From the foster: We are Jacobs second foster family, his first foster had this to say " Jacob is a happy, handsome Husky with calm energy. I describe it as calm energy because it is different than puppy energy. He will talk to you in his low husky voice to say good morning, tell you he his hungry or when he sees the leash come out because he is excited to go and explore. He loves to spend time in the backyard and play with our neighbor's dog. He lives with our 6 year old cattle dog and my 11 and 13 year old. Jacob likes to be pet, brushed, and snuggle while watching TV. Sometimes he will fetch, but it seems to be on his terms. I noticed that he likes to bury his toys in blankets which is super cute. I have enjoyed getting to know this husky breed, sometimes he seems so human. He even tried to keep the kids from jumping in the pool by putting his arms around them. While Jacob is 6, it does not appear that he had been taught basic obedience. He is a very good boy considering the lack of training. He rarely barks, he only jumps up when he sees the leash, and has not shown any leash aggression. He may get excited to see another dog, but it is not aggression. Jacob will pull on a leash until he gets more energy out and then he will settle in. He will require a fenced yard and training for owner and Jacob to be the best they can be together." Our update: In the time that Jacob has been with us he has not had any accidents in the house, though he did mark his favorite bed once. He loves wrestling with our two year old malamute and the two of them will play for hours. Jake does have a little bit of the typical husky mischief making and stubbornness. We have been working hard on his obedience which is improving quickly. As well he has been crated at night and during the day when we are away. While he does not like his crate, he protests less every day and generally quiets down after a few minutes. Jacob is a great companion and a joy to spend time with. Jacob has been taking an anti anxiety medication through his transition to our home. Our impression is that he is fearful of being left alone and the medication helps him relax in his crate when we have to leave him. The hope is that once he is more comfortable with his crate and settling into a forever home that he would no longer need this medication.

Hi, I'm Warner and I'm from Oklahoma! From my foster: Sawyer (aka Warner) is the sweetest pup and is looking for his forever family! He loves children and does great with other animals. He is still working on potty training but is very smart and usually sits by the door! He also knows how to sit, lay down, shake, and is learning the command "stay. He does well in a crate but sometimes gets lonely and cries out. He loves to cuddle, play fetch, and play in the snow. Sawyer will be the perfect addition to any family! From the Vet: I'm Warner, still a young pup with some behavior battles to win, but I know I will learn! The vet also wanted my future family to know that I have a chronic cough that is being diagnosed, but its suspected to be from a possible previous parasite or allergy. I have a recheck appointment scheduled 3/29 to get the the bottom of all of that! I hope to meet you soon! I'm so excited to settle into my furever home!

I am looking for a foster or her forever family! Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt I am Mary. I am from Missouri. From her foster: Mary is such a sweet, calm dog! She loves to spend time outside, whether that's hanging out in the yard or going for a leisurely walk. Bonus points if there's snow, the colder the weather the better for her! She has done so great with the other dogs in the house (a 75 pound greyhound and 30 pound shepherd/heeler mix), and she loves to initiate play with both of them. Mary is fully house trained and crate trained. She has loved all of the people she's met, and she greets them very gently. She struggles with stairs, so a home where she could stay on one level would be best. She is on a weight management plan with the hopes of reaching her ideal weight of 55 pounds.

Story
Hi! I'm Styles. I am from Minnesota. Styles is a good boy with the typical Husky characteristics. He is friendly to everyone he meets and enjoys loving on the kids in his foster home and giving kisses. He also enjoys playing with the resident dog that is ok with his mouthy play. Styles has a lot of energy. A home that can keep him stimulated and active would be best. He is crate trained and will go in his crate without a problem. When excited, he does howl, so a home without shared walls would be best. His favorite thing to do is hang outside in the yard and keep watch for the bunnies that live under the shed in the back. This boy has a high prey drive and is very interested in little critters when they catch his eye. It is unknown if he is good with cats. He is learning leash manners. If coming across a squirrel or small bird he does get excited and want to pull. Using a gentle leader seems to help but he is still getting used to wearing one and is not the biggest fan.

Story
Hi! My name is Vivo and I am from Oklahoma. Vivo is the sweetest, snuggliest baby boy, he has stolen our (and every person he meets) hearts! He hasn't had any accidents in the house as long as he's let out on a schedule. We're working on basic commands like sit, lay down, and stay, but he runs happily to you when you tell him to come. We're still working on crate training and do all his feedings in his kennel to try to help with it. Based on what we've observed we're assuming he has some sort of bad experience with being kenneled, he will demonstrate all the husky noises (shared walls are probably not a great idea). Aside from being kenneled he hasn't been very vocal aside from stretching and occasionally during play. He does great with our 4.5 year old doggo (does a great job of giving him space) and loves to play with our 6 month old puppy too! Apply today to meet the happy boy who stole our hearts! Shared walls probably won't be ideal while he's crate training. He howls and cries like a typical husky but otherwise he's pretty quiet for a husky.

Story
Hey, I'm Archie. My favorite things are chew toys, belly rubs, snuggling, and going for walks, not always in that order. I love playing with other dogs, but I am also content to just hang out with the humans. I really, really, reallllly like it when I get to sleep on the bed. My foster mom usually makes me go in my kennel and I do fine, but I always run to her bed first just to see if she will let me stay there instead. No luck... yet. I'm sure my sweet, hopeful eyes will get her any day now! My go-to ways to occupy myself are playing keep away with the other dogs here or, if they wont play anymore, I like chewing on a bone next to my foster mom. I know which dog-bed to sit on to get treats and I will lay quietly next to her for hours now that I know that's my spot. From my foster: Archie is a smart boy who responds to anything that leads to attention, so giving treats for things you like and walking away from less desired behavior, or asking for a known behavior like "come, sit" instead of giving attention is key to training him. He is curious about everything and likes to know what you're up to. Brain games are great for him and he has a great mind for figuring things out.  Archie likes all people, but I suspect he may train young humans to do his bidding, so unless you want small children who obey the dog, I'd recommed kids who are a bit older, or adults who will keep a close eye on what Archie is up to. ##1968786##

Story
Welcome Bailey Blue to CCPAL Foster Program. She is a 4-year-old and appears to be a pure bred Siberian Husky. She is a little bit chunky at 75 pounds. She is a beautiful Red and White husky with light blue eyes. She is good with dogs her size and smaller dogs. She was very tolerant of a little dominant boy dog that fell in love with her at the Rescue. She has lived in a home with children successfully. She is also around cats but all time with them is supervised. She is potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She does not jump up on you which is nice. She has a beautiful coat that will need regular brushing to stay looking beautiful. We would love a previous husky owner for her new family. She would love to live in the cooler more northern climates as she has a beautiful full coat to fully enjoy this type of weather. She would be fine with children and we like them to be 8 or older. Husky dogs need a good fenced yard. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont, Conneticut or all along the East Coast. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. I am looking for a foster or forever family! Please CLICK HERE to sign up to foster! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt I am Nara. I am from Arkansas. I'm a super sweet and outgoing gril. My foster parents tell me I'm a super goofy girl, I like to hop and spin around like a bunny. I loveeeeee all the people in the entire world. I want to jump up and give you hugs and get all the pets! I am a sweet girl who wants to bounce around and play all the time. I love other dogs and just want to play! My foster parents say I can be a bit extra for some dogs who want a little more space, but I just want to play! For the benefit of all, slow intros will serve my dog friends best! I love all people and mean well but my excitment may get the best of me and I could knock down small childern! So a little older childern would be best! I am house trained and crate trained (need a little encouragement to go in). My foster parents fenced back yard is the best and I could stay out and play all day long. Kongs and toys are the best thing invented sense sliced bread. Do I sound like the perfect dog for you ?
