Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Sweet 4m old Rudolph from Kosovo All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Story
Margo is the kind of dog who stops people in their tracks—beautiful, soft, soulful, and radiating that unmistakable Golden Retriever sweetness. She came from a backyard breeder as an 8-week-old puppy, advertised as a Goldendoodle, but as she grew, it became clear that her heart and her heritage lean almost entirely Golden. Born on 2/7/23 and now weighing about 50 pounds, she has matured into a graceful, gentle young girl who wants nothing more than to be loved. Her original family adored her and provided her with a safe, caring home, but unexpected personal challenges arose—difficult ones that prevented them from giving her the consistency, time, and attention she truly deserved. They made the painful, selfless decision to ask for help in finding her a new family, wanting Margo to live her best possible life. And what a gift this girl will be to her new home. Margo is sweetness personified. She is friendly with every dog she meets, respectful and calm around cats, and gentle enough to be trusted with young children. She needs to be in a home of no small dogs - she thinks they are playthings. Her temperament is exactly what people love about Golden Retrievers—steady, affectionate, intuitive, and endlessly kind. She greets new people with a soft smile and happy tail as if welcoming them into her world. Margo is still young and doesn’t have many commands under her belt, but she is a blank slate in the best possible way. She watches her people carefully, eager to understand what’s expected of her, and she responds beautifully to gentle guidance. With patience and routine, she will blossom into a perfectly mannered companion. A fenced yard would be ideal for her—she loves the freedom to run, sniff, and stretch those young, energetic legs. She hasn’t had nearly enough opportunities for outdoor play or structured exercise, so a family who values activity and time outside will help her thrive. After playtime, she’ll settle in beside you with that soft Golden warmth that makes every house feel more like home. Margo is the whole package: beauty, personality, intelligence, and a heart full of love. She is ready for the stability of a forever home where she won’t have to transition again—a place where she can grow up, bond deeply, and be cherished every day. If you’ve been dreaming of a young Golden mix with all the emotional intelligence and gentle spirit the breed is famous for, Margo could truly be your once-in-a-lifetime dog. She is hoping to find her new family just in time for the holiday season. To apply for this beautiful girl, emailccrnewengladn@gmail.com. Margo is ready for her fresh start. &#226&#156&#168PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 6, 2026, 4:28 pm

Story
Available for adoption! Good morning, Hal, here. I want to share with you my experience which has prepared me for a loving family and I hope if you are reading this you will feel compelled to consider adopting me! I heard my owner say it would be kinder to surrender me to the shelter. My question was kinder to whom! Luckily for me (and my fursister with the same condition) I heard that Ming's assistant was going to bring us north and work with us to help us recover what ever control might be possible. She took us to a specialist who said we suffered from neurological issues but that there was no conventional treatment. But that was not the end of our quest for help as we got remedies from the Homeopath and Ming's assistant would hold us close to comfort us and make it possible for us to eat the chicken & rice meals she prepared. The road to recovery was long but the unending support of Ming & his assistant continued. I am happy to report that our issues are nearly resolved. So if you have room in your heart & home for an awesome, precious boy please send an email to the Rescue (WOW.Rescue@yahoo.com) for information & an application. The unconditional love I will give you will be a great blessing! PS. Ming says I would be fine to be adopted by myself as he has taught me to be independent and Ming is always right. Story
About Karley Approx. 5 years old | 77.6 lbs | Gentle, devoted companion This sweet girl has had a series of loving homes due to human circumstances—not behavior issues. Her first owner adopted her as a young dog and adored her until he passed away. She was then taken in by his best friend, who later became seriously ill. During that time, she showed an extraordinary level of awareness—waking him at night when his oxygen equipment wasn’t working or when he needed assistance, despite having no training to do so. Most recently, she moved again when a resident cat was unable to adjust to sharing the home. Each transition has been handled with care and love, and she has remained gentle and emotionally connected throughout. 🐾 Personality & Temperament Exceptionally gentle and affectionate Very people-oriented—she bonds deeply and wants to be near her person Can feel anxious if separated, but not destructive Calm and settles well indoors, sleeps through the night Previously assessed by a trainer as easy to train and a possible therapy-dog candidate (assessment copy pending) 🧠 Training & Motivation House-trained Walks nicely on leash and is accustomed to regular grooming Not food-motivated—she works for touch, praise, and affection Responds well to guidance and human connection rather than treats 🏡 Lifestyle & Social Skills Loves car rides, swimming, and toys Good with children of all ages Does well with both large and small dogs (with proper introductions) No known aggression issues 🚧 Management Notes (Honest & Important) She can clear a 4-foot fence if left unattended in a yard Interestingly, she respects an invisible fence very well Best suited for a home where she isn’t left alone outdoors and where companionship is valued 💗 Ideal Home She will thrive with someone who: Wants a true companion, not a backyard dog Is home often or enjoys including their dog in daily life Understands that closeness and reassurance—not treats—are what motivate her Appreciates a calm, emotionally intuitive dog with a big heart
