Story
I have an Adoption Pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need. Thank you! We all might be ready for the snow to end, but one look at this beautiful, snowy white girl will make you think of the fluffy stuff! Aurora Adora, a 5-month cream-colored Golden Retriever, is ready to find her forever home! With her soft, fluffy coat and warm, soulful eyes, she captures hearts everywhere she goes. She is incredibly sweet, smart, and lovable. Aurora came to our rescue from an elderly couple who found a young puppy's energy to be too much for them. However, like any puppy, she has that perfect amount of puppy-appropriate energy; playful and curious but just as happy to settle down to snuggle up with her favorite people after a fun play session. Her foster mom shares, “She is very smart, and we are working with her to sharpen up basic commands and improve leash walking. She is housebroken, very curious about every noise and every item in the house. While exploring, she is learning what is hers to play with and what is not! She is just a lovable girl who loves attention. Aurora is sure to grow into a loyal and devoted companion." Aurora is happiest when she is close to you. She would love a home where she can be given attention, love, and guidance. She loves everyone she meets, greeting them enthusiastically. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate addition to your family, this precious girl might just be your perfect match. Aurora has received her puppy vaccinations and presently weighs about 35 lbs. She will likely weigh about 65 lbs when she is full-grown. Aurora's adopters must commit to spaying their adopted pup when she reaches 1 year of age, or as your veterinarian recommends, and must provide proof of neutering/spaying to SGRR. If you are approved to adopt through SGRR, are home most of the day, have an active life-style, and a sense of humor, please contact Cheryl Kewley to be considered to adopt Aurora Adora. Aurora is a real GEM and will not last long, so don't wait to ask about her! Rescued dogs come with a range of needs - from behavioral to emotional to medical. When approved applicants adopt such dogs, they agree to take on whatever comes with the dog. It is up to YOU to continue the rehabilitation we have begun. This is what it means to rescue. If not yet approved for adoption, please visit our website to fill out an application! Click here to visit our website. Please contact us with any questions regarding your application status. PLEASE APPLY by submitting an application via this online link: Click for Adoption Application About Our Rescue Before being approved to adopt, all potential adopters need to complete our online application and participate in our pre-adoption review process. The process includes the completion of an online application, a reference from the applicants' vet, a phone interview, and a visit to the applicants' home. The application process helps us determine what type of Golden would be best suited for the applicants' life style. In some cases, the specific dog you are interested in may have found a home before this process is complete or further assessment may find that this dog is not the right match for your family. We are regularly getting new Goldens in need of a home, so we encourage you to apply and get approved so that when the right dog comes along you will be ready. The information provided on each dog is based on observations of our vets, volunteers, fosters and when available, trainers. While we do our best to report any and all issues, SGRR does not make any guarantees as to the health or temperament of any dog. Dogs evolve differently in different environments and we cannot predict with any certainty how the dog you adopt will act in your home. ADOPTION FEES - Effective of October 1, 2024 PUREBRED DOGS Purebred puppies, up to 6 months $1000 Purebred dogs, 6 months - 6 years $800 Purebred dogs, 7 - 9 years $650 Purebred dogs, 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Pairs of Purebred Puppies, up to 6 months $1600 Bonded pair - young purebred dogs $1400 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $1000 MIXED BREED DOGS Up to 6 months $850 6 months - 6 years $750 7 - 9 years $650 10 years and up $550 Young dogs with special needs $650 Senior dogs with special needs $500 Bonded pair - young dogs $1000 Bonded pair - senior dogs 7 years & up $900 A contract is signed the day of adoption. Under the terms of the contract, all adopters are required to bring the rescue to a vet within 7 business days. The dogs receive basic veterinary care prior to adoption. If your vet identifies an illness that an adopter is not willing to treat, then the dog is returned and a full refund is provided. Many of our dogs are fostered in private homes and we do not have a facility to visit. We are committed to our dogs before, during, and after adoption! The rescue retains title to the dog and can never be released or sold. Should the adopters no longer be able to keep the dog, SGRR must be notified so that we can take the dog back into rescue and place it into another home. We reserve the right to remove a dog at any time should we find the adopter is no longer caring for their Golden in a way we see fit. Adopters then have to agree to follow up visits as needed. Please be a ray of light for this Sunshine dog and make a tax deductible donation toward medical and other expenses. Every cent of your generosity goes directly toward the care of a Sunshine dog. Story
How adorable is 7 year old Chevy? One of our shelter partners posted their upcoming euthanasia list on Facebook and Chevy was one of the next ones in line. Looking at his sweet smile and those loving eyes, we knew we couldn't let him leave that way. Even though we knew he was heartworm positive and the costs that would incur, we still made a commitment to save him, and we have ZERO regrets about that decision. This love is in a foster home with 2 teenage boys, mom and dad, 2 senior dog friends, and a young active pup. He is the perfect houseguest with each and every one of them. He will fit in with any home that is longing for a senior friend. All of us at CPR have a deep love for a gray face and eyes full of wisdom and joy. Apply to adopt this distinguished gentleman today at www.cprdogs.com. Chevy is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested *positive for heartworms and will be fully treated before leaving our care. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm.
