Story
Meet Fuchsia AKA Angie! Fuchsia, affectionately known as Angie, is a 4-year-old, fully grown retriever mix with a gentle and loving nature. She was originally born here in 2021 and adopted into a home, but sadly returned to our care in September when her family had to move and were unable to take her along. She came back with her adopted brother, Milo, through no fault of her own. Since returning, Angie has only shared a room with Milo, but she has shown openness to potentially making additional doggy friends with proper introductions. She has lived comfortably with two children and is potty trained, making her a wonderful option for a family environment. Angie does not require prior dog experience and would be a great match for first-time adopters. True to her retriever roots, she enjoys affection and is happiest when she’s cuddled up with her people.

Story
Hi, my name is Vinnie. I've got quite a story to tell. See, back in the time of Covid-19, my person was no longer able to take care of me, and I was unfortunately separated from him. This landed me in a high-kill shelter in North Carolina, but thankfully, the Ranch took me in. I really miss being in a home, and I've been waiting since January of 2023 to have a new family. I know I'm on the bigger side, but I'm super loving and sweet! Plus, big squishy dogs make perfect cuddlers. When I'm not being a snuggle bug, I enjoy playing with toys (especially bones!), eating snacks, and exploring my yard. I like to wrestle with my roommates here, though I can be picky about the dogs I like to play with, so please make sure I have proper introductions. I also don't really love cats or other small critters, cause I like to chase things and I'm still learning the leash. We could even take some training classes together to really help! Training is fun, engaging, and a great way to increase your bond with a dog. My funky little ears are very eye catching, and I'm sure to have all your friends and family adoring me! I will give all that love right back!!

Story
Meet Major 💙 On December 11th, this beautiful boy arrived at a shelter in Cobb County, Georgia as a stray with an injured leg. Major was found on the side of a busy road, and it’s likely he was struck by a car. Limping and unable to put weight on his back left leg, his finder knew he needed help right away and brought him to the shelter. Radiographs revealed a clean transverse fracture of the proximal femur. The good news is that his pelvis is intact, and both acetabula and coxofemoral joints show no signs of additional fractures. Through it all, Major has been nothing but a sweetheart, handling his treatment and care like an absolute champ. County shelters often aren’t equipped to provide the level of care a pup like Major needs, so a rescue was urgently needed—and Big Dog Ranch proudly answered the call. Now safe at the ranch in Alabama, Major is resting comfortably while plans are made for his transport to the South Florida location, where the next steps in his recovery will take place. Major’s journey isn’t over yet, but with continued care, love, and healing, he has a bright future ahead. This resilient, gentle boy is well on his way to a second chance at the life he deserves. 🐾💙

Story
Hi, I'm Ron! I was originally brought to the Ranch all the way back in 2014. I've been in a couple of homes, but they haven't lasted due to my quirky behaviors. I require a special handler for a special dog, because I can be pretty anxious in a home, I don't like to share my stuff, and I'm a bit of an introvert. That means I need to be properly introduced to strangers and should not live in any home with children or frequent guests. That doesn't mean I don't like people though, cause once I open up I'm the sweetest, most loyal boy you'll meet and I'll lean my whole body on you for pets. I love other dogs and even cats as well! Plus, I'm super food motivated and have learned some tricks. I may be an old boy, but I do like to roam, so I'd like a nice yard, maybe with a pool too! I'm not too fond of small spaces like crates, you see. A nice big farm with plenty of space would be perfecf. I'm looking for a retirement home to thrive in my golden years, and if you've got the skills for the job, this old dog can learn some new tricks! If you're willing to open your heart and home to me, you'll be rewarded with a sweet, happy boy with nothing on his mind but treats, naps, walks, and ear scratchies!

Story
Bonded Alpha and Omega need a loving home. Alpha is a joyful 1 year and 3 month old GoldenR, gentle with kids, playful, and endlessly affectionate. He and Omega share a deep bond; separating them would be heartbreaking for companionship and confidence. We are seeking someone who can welcome Alpha and Omega together, with socialization, especially with children around who adore him. Keeping them together is our preference; they are stronger as a pair. To ease the transition, I’m offering a 12-month monthly stipend to demonstrate my commitment to their well-being. I would also love to stay connected so I can celebrate their progress and feel part of their journey. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two devoted brothers who will fill your days with joy, please reach out. Your compassionate decision could give Omega and Alpha the secure, loving life they deserve.
