Don't let my sad eyes fool ya, I am happy to be here. They say I am a Retriever mix, possibly mixed with some Plott hound. What would you like to know? Well, this breed is loyal, intelligent, and alert. Eager to please, Plott Hounds are good with older children and other animals if socialized early. Plott Hounds are descended not from English Foxhounds but from German "Hanover hounds. way back in 1750 so we are a very established and noble breed. The retriever breeds are smart, eager to learn, athletic, and sweet-tempered. These breeds were developed for their ability to work closely with humans. We are amazing at taking on anything you ask - including just being a fantastic companion. I can be ALL of that if you adopt me. Please remember I will be needing training and patience in order to become the best dog for you I can be. Plott Hounds need socialization and obedience training because they can be dominant pack dogs. Actually, all dogs need that don't they?

I've been in a couple of homes, but they haven't lasted due to my quirky behaviors. I require a special handler for a special dog, because I can be pretty anxious in a home, I don't like to share my stuff, and I'm a total introvert. That means I need to be properly introduced to strangers and should not live in any home with children or frequent guests. That doesn't mean I don't like people though, cause once I open up I'm the sweetest, most loyal boy you'll meet. I love other dogs and even cats as well! Plus, I'm super food motivated and have learned some tricks. I may be an old boy, but I do like to roam, so I'd like a nice yard, maybe with a pool too! I'm not too fond of small spaces like crates, you see. I am a super chill pup. I like walks alright, like most dogs, but otherwise you'll find me hanging out in my bed. I love to be comfy! As far as people go... I'm a pretty independent pup. Some more important details: I was part of a large hoarding situation where I had 29 other siblings. My mom tried to care for all of us but was unable to do a good job. I am crate trained and working on my house training and doing really well. An ideal day for me would start out with going for a walk around the neighborhood.... then we would lazy nap in the sun and we could cap off the day with an evening walk around our neighborhood..
