Meet Sassy! This gentle girl is a great companion and loves to be joined at the hip with her people. It cannot be understated how sweet this gal is. This 3 year-old retriever mix loves being outside in the yard exploring and spending time with her foster family. She LOVES attention and getting all of the pets! She has had no accidents in the house and likes to think she is a lap dog (despite weighing about 70 pounds). Sassy loves exploring both inside and outdoors. She doesn't sit still for long. Walking on a leash is still a bit of a challenge. 💜 Sassy is a big, curious girl. It took a while for her to understand that the cat needs some personal space. She is doing okay with her canine foster sister and likes lumbering about in the yard with her. 💜Since she loves to explore outside, she would do great in a home with a fenced yard. She likes to put her paws up on the fence to see the world outside, so a taller fence may be best. 💜She is a bit skittish when meeting new people, but she's gotten over that quite quickly. 💜Sassy can be left alone for a while, but she gets bored and likes to shift her living space around. As her working foster parents have gotten to know her, it's become apparent that she would like someone home as much as possible. She just wants to be around her people! We are working on crate training, but she is not a huge fan. 💜She has not met any small children while in our care, but she would do best with kids that have experience with big dogs.

Story
Gentry is 5 years old now. He has been the sweetest, kindest, most loving dog a person could ask for. He is a great snuggler with a strong desire to please his humans. There is nothing we would change about him. Unfortunately, in the last year we have had a child and are unable to love him in the way that he deserves anymore. He deserves a family that will love and cherish him, being able to provide lots of dedicated playtime and attention.
