Shaggy is a 9 - 11 month old male Golden Doodle. He has a high energy level, so he would benefit from an active family with a fenced yard and plenty of space for daily exercise and play. He is loose and wiggly when greeting, and comes when called for snuggles and kisses. Shaggy does moderately pull on a leash, but with basic obedience training, he should be walking like a champ in no time! He is food motivated, but does not yet know any commands. He mixes well with other dogs in a kennel, but is afraid of cats in the shelter environment. Dogs are generally tested with dogs of their own size; and dog meets with the resident dogs are always encouraged. Our cat test should be used as a general-purpose screening only to rule out overt aggression; we always recommend caution when introducing dogs to cats in the home. Recommendation on suitability of placement with children by their ages is based on behavioral observations including energy level and response to body handling. We never recommend leaving young children unsupervised with dogs, and we cannot guarantee the behavior of dogs with children, other pets, or cats. Behavior evaluations should be considered as a snapshot of the behavior of the dog at this point in time; JHS believes all dog families need to be prepared to invest time and energy into training as well as provide common sense management of their new dog. We always encourage family to do some research on the breeds or mixes of breeds prior to adoption as many can have some unique characteristics that may or may not fit into their families. Always remember that the majority of dogs at our shelter have been exposed to or may have kennel cough. Kennel cough is contagious to other dogs, please talk to your vet if you have any questions about kennel cough prior to adoption. Please ask your adoption counselor at time of adoption if you have any unanswered questions regarding illnesses and treatments of the pet that you are adopting. This is Oso! He is a 6 year old great pyrenees golden mix. I have had him since he was 14 weeks old he unfortunately does not do well with little kids. He has never broken skin but he is very reactive. Our family is expanding and with multiple little ones in the home I find it very difficult to be able to give him the love and care he needs. Oso is a great guard dog, enjoys walks, sticks and chin scratches. He is very food motivated and is a quick learner.

She needs to lose at least 20 lbs and working on that now. She is housebroken, crate trained good with dogs and cats. Would probably do better with kids 8 yrs and older.  She would love a fenced in yard to play and lounge in. Meet Adrian! She's a cute smaller golden lab mix. She hasn't had the best experiences in her life, so she can be a little nervous when meeting new people. After her time at Laurel Pet resort she has discovered people can be very nice, so she now warms up pretty fast and is learning to love new experiences. She's a real cuddle bug, loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and is learning to sit and shake. We think she's around 2 years old and weighs around 45lbs. We would love to find her a patient foster or adoptive home that would let her take a little time to learn what it's like to be a loved member of a family.
