Story
Sweet, goofy Maggie Mae wants to play play play!  She gets her long snout from her poodle mom and her goofiness from her shepherd dad. Without a doubt she has lots of love to give and energy to burn! At 7 months old, she is still learning lots of things and her new family needs patience as they continue her training. She loves other dogs, and another playful dog in the home would help her adapt. Young kids are too unpredictable for Maggie and she gets intimidated so older kids only please! In her previous home, she was house and crate trained. Her adoption fee is 400 dollars. Maggie is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and started on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Apply today to adopt!  All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at pets@mpravl.org for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC. January 14, 2025, 12:11 am

Story
Hi, I’m Regina! I’m an 8ish-year-old Retriever mix with the sweetest old-lady demeanor you’ll ever meet. At around 50 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggles on the couch, brisk walks on a nice day, and everything in between. I have a gentle, kindhearted nature that makes me wonderful with kids and other dogs. I love to sucker you in with my loving eyes, and once I have your attention, I’ll show you how much I adore my stuffed toys and playing fetch. Whether we’re cuddling or spending time together outdoors, I’m happiest when I’m near my people. Don’t let my age fool you—I’ve got plenty of love and energy to share. I’m the perfect mix of laid-back snuggler and playful companion, and I’d be thrilled to bring my warmth and affection into a forever home. I’m spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m ready to start my next chapter with you. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who’ll melt your heart and make every day brighter, I’d love to meet you! Come meet me! Apply to meet me at foothillshumanesociety.org, or visit me at: 📍 989 Little Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722 🕒 Wednesday through Sunday, 11am–5pm Questions? Story
Rip is a very loving and energetic dog. He has been a good pet to us we just do not have the space or the time that he needs to be a happy dog. We have a very very small house and are welcoming our second child soon and live with two other adults and the house is very crowded and we don't have a large space for him to run and play. We would love for a family with the space, time, and attention to take him in to love him. We can tell he is getting frustrated and agitated in this limited space and nobody home enough the give him enough play time or exercise, and he deserves a lot more because he is very sweet and happy and overall good dog. We feel like giving him to some more equiped for his size and energy would better serve him.

Story
Turbo is a big dog with a bigger personality. Turbo likes his live a certain way, which is mainly a ball to play with, a person to be with, and a nice bed to lay on. He is tolerant of other dogs, and can definitely go to a house with the right fur siblings, but he is more interested in living the calm life. His size really doesn’t match his temperament, as he is one of the calmest dogs at the shelter. It won’t take him long to catch on to your home routine, and once he has it down, your day to day life with Turbo should be very easy. He prefers calmer dogs around his size, and no small kids or animals. He is a dog that won’t change your lifestyle very much once you take him home!
