Story
Rogan is a sweetheart. He loves to play with toys, with people, with other dogs, and on his own. He can keep himself amused for hours. He does not play favourites, and will divide his attention fairly between each of his many toys. Rogan is not a barker, but he is a communicator. On occasion, he will “talk” to you explaining his thoughts. He is very adept at training humans to give tummy rubs, ear rubs and back scritches. He is a golden/husky/poodle mix. We estimate he is 10-12 months old and guess he will be about mid-fifty pounds when fully grown. He has lots of energy to play, run and explore, and lots of stamina too. His personality is dominant – definitely alpha. He is crate trained. Unfortunately, Rogan did not have a good start in life. He had a restricted and stressful puppy hood. He came to us with a long-term ear infection in both ears, his ribs showing, and hyperactive. The ear infection has been treated, but he may require ongoing ear care to ensure the infection does not return. He is learning to leash walk, is eating normally now (but on a high calorie premium diet), is back to a normal weight, and has calmed down noticeably. His toilet training is progressing. We believe the stress during puppyhood triggered PICA. Since his PICA has improved somewhat, we hope that it is not a permanent condition. His owner did not take him to a vet, so we have started his first set of 3 puppy inoculations. He will require an experienced owner - someone who can gently, quietly, and firmly manage a very alpha dog. Rogan’s happy enthusiasm is infectious. But his speed and exuberance would be overwhelming for small dogs or young children, and probably cats. His new home will require a fully fenced yard. Our strong preference is a home with a female dog who is older than Rogan, and of a similar high energy, and high stamina breeding. He would greatly benefit from a dog companion to run and play with him, and guide him. If you can also guide him through the remnants of his initial bad experiences, you will be rewarded with a kind-hearted, dedicated, adventurous, and joyful companion. Please note we only accept adopters who live in the GTA - Greater Toronto Area.

Story
Chanel is an amazing girl. She is very easy going and loves play time and being with people. She is a friend to everyone she meets. Chanel and her two siblings were uprooted when their family was no longer able to keep them due to some family health issues. They came into our care and after keeping them together we found that they were independent and could be separated. The other two girls have found homes and now it's Chanel's turn. Chanel is ten years old but has a spunky attitude and youthful spirit. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and healthy. She gets along great with other dogs and has gone to doggie daycare and done well there. Thanks to a generous sponsor the adoption fees for seniors have been subsidized. Chanel's adoption fee is only $99. In addition, she will arrive with a harness, collar and leash along with two bags of quality senior dog food. If you would like to learn more about this sweet girl and set up a time to meet her, please email our rescue at c4ptoronto@gmail.com.

Story
Meet Cali – Your Future Adventure Buddy! 🐾 Cali’s journey began in the forests of Istanbul, Turkey 🌍, where she was found at just 45 days old. Her mother, a Golden Retriever, had been abandoned after becoming pregnant, and sadly, Cali was the only survivor of her litter 💔. Despite this heartbreaking start, she’s grown into a beautiful, smart, and loving 4-year-old Golden Retriever mix 🐕. Cali is an adventurous soul! She loves outdoor activities 🌲, whether it’s long walks, running, or playing with other big dogs 🐕‍🦺. She’s also great with kids 👶 and respectful of cats 🐱, making her a wonderful fit for families. Indoors, Cali is calm and enjoys lounging on the couch 🛋 or napping in her cozy spot, though she appreciates her personal space while resting. She’s completed basic obedience training 🎓, is fully house-trained. While she may pull on the leash when excited to meet other dogs, she quickly settles with clear guidance 🐾. Cali is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to find a loving family who will give her both the adventure and the care she deserves ❤. If you’re looking for a loyal, active, and affectionate companion, Cali is ready to meet you! Cali can fly to Toronto when she finds her forever home! Story
**may not be suitable for those with allergies** Meet Charlie – Your Gentle, Golden-Hearted Companion Available for adoption after June 16th Charlie is an 8-month-old mini golden retriever mix who weighs just 25 pounds, and we believe he’s going to stay on the smaller side – perfect for someone looking for a golden soul in a pint-sized package. This sweet boy was surrendered through no fault of his own. He came from a loving home where he was a cherished part of the family and grew up alongside children, whom he adores. Now in foster care, Charlie continues to thrive with kids around – he finds comfort being by their side and lights up when they’re near. Charlie is still learning the ropes of the big, wide world. He’s nervous in new environments and needs some time to adjust, but we’re confident that with patience, consistency, and love, he’ll settle beautifully. He enjoys running freely in a fenced yard and playing with other dogs, though he’s still figuring out how to interact with them. He’s shy, a bit skittish, and sometimes flinches with unexpected touch, but his curiosity shows us he wants to be brave – he just needs help getting there. Charlie is still working on his leash skills, and while he’s not perfect yet, he’s not bad at all for a pup his age. With gentle exposure and positive socialization, we know he’ll gain more confidence. He travels well in the car and is a wonderful little companion. Please note: Charlie does shed, so he’s not suitable for allergy-sensitive homes. Charlie is looking for a family who will go slow with him, give him the time he needs to feel safe, and let his gentle personality bloom. If you’re ready to help a shy boy grow into his best self, Charlie might just be your perfect match. He is being fostered in Maple. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.
