Story
Where did we get Zona? - We got Zona off of Craigslist when she was a puppy in 2022. What is her breed? - She is half Golden Retriever and half Great Pyrenees How old is she? - She’s 4 years old now About Zona: - Zona has a gentle personality and is wonderful with kids. She loves being around people and has been a great companion to our family. As our family continues to grow, we’ve realized we can no longer give her the time and attention she truly deserves. This has been a very difficult decision for us, and we want to find Zona a loving, caring home where she will continue to be loved and well cared for. We are hoping to find the perfect family who can give her the attention, affection, and stable home she deserves.

Story
Meet Mason – The Best Friend You Didn't Know You Were Missing! Every once in a while, a dog comes along who quietly works his way into your heart. Mason is that dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be by your side through every moment life has to offer. Whether he's leaning into you for pets, wrapping you in one of his signature hugs, or following you from room to room just to be near you, Mason loves with his whole heart. Once you meet him, it's almost impossible to imagine life without him. Mason is a breathtaking Golden Retriever and Chow mix with a gorgeous soft fluffy coat, an adorable curly tail, and the sweetest expression you've ever seen. People often stop to admire how handsome he is, but it's his incredible personality that truly steals the show. Affection is Mason's love language. He lives for snuggles, belly rubs, and simply being close to his people. If he needs a little extra attention, he'll gently put his paws around you for one of his famous hugs. It's impossible not to smile when this big teddy bear decides it's cuddle time. Mason also has plenty to say! He's quite the conversationalist and isn't shy about "talking" to his family. When it's time to go outside, he'll happily let you know by chatting with you as he heads toward the door. His funny little conversations are just one more thing that makes him so incredibly lovable. When playtime rolls around, Mason is always ready for an adventure. He loves every kind of toy and will enthusiastically chase after a ball or his favorite stuffed toy. Bringing it back? That's not really his style! Mason's favorite game is getting you to chase him instead, turning every game of fetch into a fun game of tag that will have everyone laughing. If there's water involved, Mason is even happier. Sprinklers, the garden hose, splashing around on a warm day—he absolutely loves it all. Watching him play in the water is guaranteed to brighten your day. And if you're wondering how to win Mason's heart even faster, it's simple: boiled eggs! They're his all-time favorite treat, and he'll happily show off his wonderful manners for one. Speaking of manners, Mason is an absolute gentleman. He's fully house trained, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you're exploring the neighborhood, heading to the park, or relaxing at home, Mason is an easy companion who simply enjoys sharing life with his family. Mason is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. He will need a cat-free home, as cats just aren't his thing. He also prefers female canine companions that are his size or larger. That said, Mason would also be perfectly happy being your one and only dog, where he can soak up every bit of love and attention all for himself. More than anything, Mason is searching for someone to love forever. Someone who wants a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, a walking partner, a conversation companion, and a best friend all wrapped into one incredibly handsome dog. If your home feels like it's missing something, it might just be Mason. He's the kind of dog who doesn't simply become part of the family—he becomes part of your heart. Mason at a Glance ❤️ Golden Retriever and Chow mix House trained Crate trained Walks beautifully on a leash Loves hugs, cuddles, and leaning into his people ️ "Talks" to let you know when he needs to go outside Loves sprinklers, the water hose, and playing in water Loves toys, chasing balls, and getting you to chase him Favorite treat: Boiled eggs Best with female dogs his size or larger Would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible female companion Cat-free home required If Mason sounds like the best friend you've been searching for, we'd love to hear from you! Please complete an adoption application at www.legacyhumanesociety.org, and Mason's foster mom will be in touch. We can't wait for you to meet this incredible boy—we have a feeling he'll steal your heart the moment you do.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Hi, I’m Millie! I’m a medium-sized girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My favorite place in the world is right next to my people. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who loves cuddles, kisses, and quality time, I might just be your perfect match. I love playing with other dogs and currently have a large dog friend that I adore. I’m smart, treat-motivated, and always excited to learn new things. My foster says I’m the sweetest girl ever, but I do have one funny habit...I give the most dramatic sighs and stretches you’ve ever seen! I’m also completely fascinated by animals on TV and will happily sit and watch along with you. I’m crate trained, potty trained, great with kids and other dogs, and ready to find a family of my own. I’ve been waiting patiently, and I can’t wait to meet the lucky people I get to love forever. Love, Millie 🐾 All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
Meet Dot (Dottie) 🎀 Dot’s story began when her mother was rescued, and just a short time later, on Christmas Day 2024, Dot and her siblings were born safely in our care. Now 11 months old and about 50 lbs, this beautiful retriever mix has grown up in rescue — and it’s time for her to find a forever family of her own. Dot is as smart as she is sweet. She knows sit, stay, and shake, and she’s potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, and eager to please. She’s wonderful with other dogs and children, making her an excellent family companion. Her favorite game is tug, and she’s always up for playtime before settling down for snuggles. Playful, loving, and incredibly loyal, Dot has spent her whole young life waiting. Now she’s ready to grow up in the comfort of a forever home. 💕 📩 Apply to adopt Dot: www.dallasdog.org/adopt A good Samaritan took Dot's mom, a stray, in and as soon as she knew she was safe she quickly delivered 10 little puppies.
