They shared that he is a great playmate and loves snuggles! He is a big boy weighing 70 lbs and occasionally he can get excited so a home with similar age children would be best only because he could easily knock over a little one on accident. He listens well though and is highly trainable so if you have a toddler and are interested, don’t be discourage, just keep it in mind as he will need some extra guidance there. In return though, you will have the dreamy kind of dog who is going to join in on family games, backyard hangs, and chill movie nights on the couch. Knox is estimated to be around 2 years old and is possibly a golden retriever mix, maybe a golden doodle, but given he is a rescue we cannot guarantee his breed or age. Thanks to the fact that Knox is currently fostered in a loving family home we have insider info on how he is as a house dog and he is getting A’s in all categories. He is house and crate trained, has great house manners- so much so he has free roaming privileges in the home, and has become quiet the hit on the block with neighbors- people and dogs included! Knox isn't currently living with other dogs, but he's proven he loves a good canine buddy! When we spent the day with him we wanted to see what his play style and “type” of dog he gravitates to and it didn’t take long at all for us to see it. His love connection was with a young, playful female dog with a play style we could call rough and rowdy. The connection was quick and once they got to playing it was so fun to watch! The key to him being in a home with a bouncy playmate is that he isn’t the non-stop type, having dog-buddy who knows how to take breaks and relax is important. He’s respectful of other dogs’ boundaries and only engages when the invite to play is clear, a great quality if you are looking for a doggie-day-care pup. No pushy vibes here — just good dog manners! Knox is a sweet, social guy who enjoys being around people. He warms up quickly to new folks and would thrive in a home where he’s part of the action. His foster shared that he loves the water so it it easy to picture him as the honorary pool party/ BBQ co-host — friendly, playful, and happy to take what’s left on your plate-only if you are really not going to finish that hot dog. Knox would love a home with a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs, play fetch, sunbathe, and just enjoy his space. He’s not a high-maintenance pup, but a yard would help him live his best life. As for a life with cats, we are saying "no thank you" to feline friends. Knox showed an eager excitement when he met our house cat and we can see he would likely stress out a cat with his curiosity and eagerness to play chase. Dog buddies only, please! Cowboy Charlie with his unique coat, loves the water, a good swim, and playing fetch. He is people adoring, dog-friendly, and respectful of cats. Plus, he has solid leash skills and knows a few basic commands. Okay, covered it all! Adopt him today! So far he is giving some combination of a yellow lab and a wire haired terrier but given he is a rescue, age and breed are simply observations, never guarantees. Cowboy is currently being fostered in a loving home where his foster family praises him for being loving, attentive, smart and an easy addition to their home. He has great house manners and is both house and crate trained. Cowboy is living with other dogs and we introduced him to a handful of new dogs to get a better idea of his play style and the type of dog he enjoys. With each dog he was polite, whether meeting on-leash or off, but he did not actively play with any of the dogs. He enjoyed the company of the other dogs but it is easy to see, people have his heart. His foster shared that he is the same at home, happy in the dogs company but not the dog+dog playful type. He may be a bit shy and take it slow with new dogs but he adores people and is a friend from the start. Thanks to size and personality, Cowboy has apartment/condo potential but would love a yard to play fetch in or splash around in the water, pool or a simple water hose are equally fun. An ideal home can look like a lot of things with Cowboy, he is ready to fit right in! When we introduced Cowboy to our house cat he was very respectful and kept his distance. Any signs of curiosity were very respectful and he never attempted to chase him. From what we have seen he is cat-tolerant and feline friends are welcome. If you have cats in the home we are happy to test him further to ensure this is accurate. Cowboy has great basic leash skills and enjoys walks around the neighborhood. He will benefit from continued socialization and adventures to ensure he can build on that great base. His attentive nature to people and intelligence will likely translate into a fast learning and obedient dog. Oh my heck! This is Piglet and I squealed when I saw him because he is seriously THAT cute! Once I actually met him I was smitten! He is confident, charming, so soft and has the bounciest ears I have ever seen! Seriously, they have the bounce that make you smile every time he moves. Piglet is so fortunate and is being fostered while he is waiting for his forever family so we are able to share, from his fosters front row seat, who Piglet is as a house dog. First off, he has excellent house manners and is fully house and crate trained. His foster has shared what an easy addition he has been to their life and home. From greeting guests to his neighborhood walks, he is a friendly, welcoming boy and he spreads joy in such a visible way wherever he is. Plus, he will happily let you carry him like a baby! Age and breed are not details we can guarantee given he is a rescue but we see a little golden retriever when we look at him. He walks well on a leash, happily accepted being handed off between people, and never missed a beat. He’s incredibly tolerant — you can scoop him up, dress him up, or lay him across your lap and he’s cool with it all. Piglet would thrive in a home with a playful but mature female dog who enjoys play but knows when to take breaks. A confident play-pal may occasionally have to give Piglet a gentle reminder if he is being a bit much but he takes the feedback well and adjusts appropriately. He is not over-the-top playful but is still learning the rhythm of play with dog friends but has great canine-friend vibes and will love having a pal. Because Piglet can be vocal (think barking at dogs during play or at the occasional outdoor noises), apartment living isn’t the best fit for him.
