Story
Hi, I'm Julio - a 5-year-old golden retriever with a heart as soft as my fur. I'm gentle, good-natured, and just looking for a calm place to land. I love quiet company, soft voices, and warm hands. I may not be the first to chase a ball or grab a toy, but I will sit by your side with my whole heart. I just want someone who sees past the nerves and into the loving soul I'm ready to share. If you've got patience, kindness, and a little extra space in your heart, I think we'd make a golden team.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior-to-Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Gold Weight: 87 Age: 5yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
** Fostered in Maineville, Ohio** Meet Gully — part goofball, part genius, and 100% Ken Doll. Believed to be a Mini Golden Retriever/Australian Shepherd mix (but hey, with rescue it’s always a fun guessing game), this handsome young pup is just under 2 years old and ready to bounce his way into your life. Gully is a certified barrel of fun. He’s the kind of dog who brings the party wherever he goes — whether that’s romping around the yard, taking in the sights on a walk, or hopping into the car for his next great adventure. He’s been around kiddos and passed the kid test with flying colors, and he did great in foster with both dogs and cats. If there’s another dog in the home, he’ll need a playmate who can match his rough-and-rowdy wrestling style and a family willing to call a timeout when he forgets to hit pause. (Breaks? Never heard of ‘em.) But don’t worry — Gully’s not a nonstop whirlwind. He’s actually pretty independent and is happy to entertain himself during the day. He’s crate and potty trained, rarely barks, and has mastered all the important tricks like sit, stay, down, wait, and leave it. He’s smart, affectionate, and a total sweetheart who’s always down for cuddles after a good romp. Gully will absolutely thrive in a home that runs on routine and predictability — structure is his sweet spot. When he knows what to expect, he flourishes. He’s still a young guy and will benefit from a family committed to continuing his leash training and socialization to help him grow into the best version of himself. Add a fenced yard (at least 5 feet, since this boy’s got hops), a sunny patch of grass to lounge in, and a family who appreciates both his silly and smart sides, and you’ve got one happy pup. If you’re looking for a dog who’s got brains, good looks, and a whole lotta love to give, Gully just might be your guy. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30-day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8-week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 7-year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Emma is an 8 year old purebred golden retriever. We have had her for 7 great years. We took her into our home when our friends found her as an abused one year old dog that had been abandoned by a military family who was deployed. Due to the abuse early on, she has a lot of anxiety and is nervous around men. To this day she is still nervous around me when I am standing but will creep up to me and then she is sweet as anything. We love Emma, but unfortunately she doesn’t fit into our family anymore. She does have defensive/aggressive tendencies at children which doesn’t work with our now running toddler and infant we just brought home. She has had another dog with her in the home all her life and will likely need a home with another dog going forward as I believe that helps with her anxiety. We are in no rush to re-home her, and would keep her with us for a year or more if that’s how long it takes to find the right family. No adoption fee asked, let’s keep this dog happy and loved.
