Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTI NG ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Buttermint! - Buttermint is about 8 weeks old and weighs about 6 lbs. The mom is a pit bull mix and the dad was a chocolate lab. Buttermint is in a foster home with his brother Hershey and they love to wrestle and play. Buttermint is working hard on his house and crate training and doing a great job! Because he is a baby puppy, he will require an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his/her training—no exceptions. Buttermint is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be neutered at 6 months of age. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00 plus a $100.00 spay/neuter refundable deposit. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Snickers! 🍫 Snickers is one of Fern’s adorable puppies — born on August 5, 2025, and currently weighing around 15 lbs. We’re not sure of his exact breed mix, but our best guess is Retriever/Hound mix. Fern is Snickers mom and she weighs in at 27 lbs. Whatever his mix, Snickers is a sweet, playful pup who loves attention and cuddles! Snickers is good with other dogs and young enough to learn about cats. Snickers loves to play with his doggie toys and running around the backyard. If you’re looking for a fun, loving companion to grow up with, Snickers might be the perfect fit for your family! 💕 Because Snickers is still a baby, he’ll need an adopter who is home a good portion of the day to continue his training and socialization — no exceptions. This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped and will need to be spayed at the age of 6 months. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00. PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ AGE: Approaching 3 years ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 55 pounds KNOWN WITH DOGS: Snowy needs to be an only dog. KNOWN DISLIKES: Not a fan of other dogs with positive reinforcement he is improving SNOWY IS SEEKING A LIFELONG SNUGGLE PARTNER: Occupation: Full-time Cuddle Specialist Interests: Hugs, belly rubs, snacks, showing off his toys Snowy is the kind of dog who believes snuggling should be considered a competitive sport — and he’s going for gold. His signature move is the classic full-body lean, where he melts into you like warm butter on toast. He gives big, honest hugs and expects nothing more in return than a few scratches and maybe a compliment. When Snowy’s happy (which is often), he proudly parades around with a toy in his mouth, his whole backside wiggling like it has its own opinion. It’s nearly impossible not to grin when he does it. His Strengths: * Excellent house manners: house-trained, crate-trained, quiet, polite * Smart, food-motivated, knows a number of commands * Loves kids and is great in the car *Charming and unintentionally hilarious just by being himself His Hobbies: * Cuddling on any available human * Sunbathing * Enjoying enrichment games *Trotting around with toys * Greeting visitors like they’re there specifically to admire him Areas He’s Working On: Snowy is learning to walk past other dogs calmly. With treats and practice, he’s doing well. He prefers being the only pet — easier to keep all the attention that way. Ideal Match: Someone who enjoys a silly, snuggly dog with good manners and a big heart. He’ll do best in a suburban setting where dogs aren’t constantly popping up to say hello. If you want a cheerful, affectionate, goofy companion who gives world-class hugs and makes every day better, Snowy would love to meet you. Ready to meet your new best friend? Snowy is waiting!
