Story
Paddington is a sweet loving dog. But he needs someone who can exercise with him, train him, and ideally has a home with a large yard. Im having him rehomed because im moving soon, and I can't afford to take care of him. He has separation issues and is clingy. I love him but realistically I've neglected him due to health issues, like walking him and training him on a leash, and taking him to the vet. Paddington is about 14 years old but has a energetic playful personality. He gets along with other people and dogs, but not sure about cats. Paddington needs to see a vet about an odor coming from him, im on disability and can't afford to take him. Last time I did the vet gave me some medicated shampoo but that didn't help the problem. I've taken him to groomer and that works for about a week but then it comes back, I think its something internally. Paddington would do well in a home with other dogs.

Story
Meet Steve!   This sweet Retriever Mix boy was found running as a stray with his siblings in Chester, SC, back in June 2025. They were just puppies and were likely abandoned. With patience and kindness, their finders earned their trust and brought them to safety in their backyard. After six months living mostly outdoors, they reached out to our rescue for help finding loving homes for Steve and his sister, Henrietta. The siblings are now in separate foster homes, learning all about life indoors, and both are truly flourishing. Steve has been in his foster home for almost three weeks. At first, he was shy and shut down - home life, everyday noises, collars, and leash walks were all completely new to him. The backyard he lived in for those six months was the only home he had ever known. He is fortunate to be fostered by seasoned foster mom Cindy, who has helped many dogs successfully transition to home life. We are happy to share that Steve already has good house manners, has mastered the doggy door, and has solid leash skills. With practice and exposure, he’s grown more confident on leash and is comfortable walking in neighborhoods as well as on trails. He does well meeting new people and dogs and is a naturally sweet boy. Cindy shared this update: “Steve has really come a long way in a short time. He’s great with our grandkids and lets them pet him when they visit. He doesn’t run from them as he did in the beginning. He’ll come up to me for affection and is still building confidence, but you can tell he wants to connect and really wants to be petted and sit with you on the couch. I think after a few months with a family, he’ll be a completely different dog. He may not be the dog who immediately falls all over you when you first meet him, but once he builds trust, he chooses to be near you. He even waits for me when I come home and gets so excited to see me. For the most part, Steve is a calm, easygoing boy in the home. He truly lights up when he has another dog to play with; outside, he loves to run and play chase. He needs a confident, playful dog to follow and learn from. There isn’t an aggressive bone in his body; you can take away toys, treats, and he’s gentle with the kids.” Steve is a gentle, sweet, submissive soul with a medium energy level. He’s done well with the senior dog in his foster home and visiting family dogs. Because he learns by watching and following other dogs, we believe he would do best in a home with another social, established dog as a role model. Preference will be given to families with another dog in the home. This handsome boy is blossoming more each day and will make a wonderful family dog and loyal companion. Coming to the DC metro area in February, and would prefer he go directly home. Open to foster-to-adopt. Story
Minnie is ~9 months old. My wife and I had adopted her for new years and thought we could make it work. I’m in the military so I’m not always home and with the problems at home we could not take care and love her properly and I refuse to let such a sweet and loving dog live in such a household. She’s very friendly and is very very loving. We were in the midst of potty training her, and she is crate trained. She listens decently well but her recall isn’t perfect. She’s be perfect for a loving home that has time for her. She gets a little picky with treats at times but she absolutely loves playing and does indeed fetch. She’s an amazing girl and I think anyone would be happy to have her as their best furry friend.

Story
Meet Henrietta!  This sweet, doodle girl was spotted running as a stray with her siblings in Chester, SC, in June 2025. They were just puppies at the time, and we believe they had been abandoned there. With patience and time, their finders earned their trust, and once they did, the pups followed them home and into the yard for safety. For the next few months, Henrietta lived primarily outdoors in the finders’ backyard, coming inside during inclement weather. The family found a home for one of her siblings and reached out to rescue to ensure Henrietta and her brother, Steve, would also find safe, loving homes. While they are good buddies, Henrietta and Steve are now in separate foster homes, learning about home life and building their confidence, and both are doing well.  Henrietta has been in her foster home for almost a month and is learning to trust and come out of her shell. At first, she was shy and shut down; home life, everyday noises, collars, and leash walks were all completely new to her. The backyard she lived in for those six months was the only home she had ever known. She is fortunate to be fostered by seasoned fosters Laine and Gary, along with their pack of three dogs, who have helped many fosters successfully transition to family dog. Henrietta is very submissive and quickly found her place in the pack, learning by watching and following the older dogs. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a home with another social. established dog who can be a role model. In return, she will make an excellent pack member. While she’s still shy around sudden loud noises and quick movements, Henrietta has started to engage with Laine and Gary and is not fearful of people, just shy. She is a very sweet soul with a gentle nature and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, but she does need time to trust and get comfortable with new things.  She has a medium energy level, with the occasional zoomies, but overall is quite moderate for a young pup. She crates well and has already shown good house manners. Henrietta has started going on pack walks now, and while her tail was tucked initially, she gets more confident with every exposure. Henrietta loves soft, comfy beds and toys and feels most confident when she’s part of a pack. This sweet girl continues to blossom each day and is going to make a wonderful family dog and loyal companion. Story
Rocky is 4 years old. His birthday is December 9th. We purchased Rocky at a pet store in Jacksonville FL when he was 3 months old. With him being a field golden, he acquires alot of attention, and time. He has alot of energy and loves to fetch/play with balls. He is very alert as well so do not be intimidated. He really is such a sweet and loving boy, and I just want him to be with a family give him the attention he deserves. With going through alot of personal things myself, I am unable to provide what I believe he deserves.
