Story
Est. DOB: 12/01/2025 Weight: Estimated to be 20-30lbs full grown Adoption fee: $495 (Adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate current vaccines, microchip, and preventative flea treatment.) Me and my brother Gladiator recently made the journey from Mexico to Sunny Sky's Animal Rescue in search of our forever homes. I'm about 6 months old and weigh just 15 pounds, but with these oversized ears, people always think I'm much bigger! Life has been a little overwhelming for me so far, and I haven't had many opportunities to experience the world. Because of that, I can be shy and nervous in new situations. I'm looking for a family that understands that confidence takes time to build and is willing to help me learn that the world isn't such a scary place. I'd love a patient home that can provide: -Plenty of positive socialization and gentle encouragement. -A predictable routine where I can feel safe and secure. - Lots of love while I learn to trust and gain confidence. - A friendly resident dog who can show me the ropes and help me feel more at ease. -Due to my nervousness, I would be best suited with kids 10+ Underneath my timid exterior is a sweet young pup who's ready to blossom with the right family. With patience, understanding, and a little time, I know I'll become a loyal companion and cherished member of the family. If you're looking for a special puppy to guide through life's adventures, I just might be your girl. Come meet me and see if we're the perfect match! Apply today! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSAR/Dog Disclaimer: Please note that dogs in a rescue environment may behave differently than they would in a home setting. While we do our best to assess each dogs habits and behaviors, we cannot guarantee that any dog is fully potty trained or will not have accidents after adoption. Changes in environment, routine, stress levels, and transition into a new home can all impact a dogs house-training habits. Patience, consistency, and continued training may be needed as the dog adjusts to their new home. Breed descriptions are provided as a general estimate based on the dog's size, shape, and appearance. These descriptions are not definitive and should be considered a "guestimate." Since we cannot always know the exact breed mix of our rescue animals, the information provided is simply an educated guess. Story
I’m rehoming our baby Skye due to changes in our circumstances, and some behavioral challenges on his part that I’m ill equipped to manage at this time. I adopted him as a baby, and he turned 2 on May 25, 2026. Since he was little he was raised alongside my two toddlers, and for the most part is a loving gentle and protective pup with them—they adore him. But unfortunately he’s incredibly anxious about being left alone, and has occasional resource guarding reactivity over food and treats. He’s never bit anyone, but he will growl and bark pretty fiercely on the random occasion he chooses to guard, and it’s hard to predict when he will do it. I truly believe given the proper training, patience and consistency he could be managing much better. Although he was raised with little kids, I don’t recommend he continue to do so simply because of his unpredictability. I also don’t feel comfortable suggesting other dogs simply because I can’t guarantee his behavior again, when food Is present
