Story
Doug Lucky is the definition of why people love Golden Retrievers. He’s got that face, the soft eyes, the forever-happy expression, the kind that makes you melt on sight, and a personality to match. If you’re a golden lover, Doug Lucky is exactly what you’re hoping for. Watch his video and you'll quickly fall in love with his Golden heart: https://youtu.be/2Z32ZWaa1cQ?si=0jHhlKcyzw2_-cVC It's fairly safe to say that Doug Lucky's DNA runs deep in the Golden Retriever family but with rescue, it's always a mystery and there are no guarantees. He is approximately 4 years old and currently weighs 90 lbs. This boy has the body to match his Goldie lock fluff. Even with his size, he is so gentle and has the best happy go lucky personality about him. He’s incredibly people-loving and greets everyone like an old friend. With other dogs, Doug Lucky is friendly and social, rocking a bouncy, joyful play style and especially loving a good game of chase (even if he’s a little slow… enthusiasm counts). He’s the kind of dog who just wants to be included and have fun. He is currently fostered in a home with other dogs as well (golden's just like him) and he gets along great with them too. They are like the 3 golden musketeers. When Doug met our house cat Biggie, he met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. Doug gave Biggie a few sniffs and then was back to strutting his stuff and saying hi to everyone. He did not chase Biggie and Biggie felt comfortable around him too. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Doug Lucky is also wonderfully well-mannered. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and already knows how to sit. He’s eager to please and easy to train, making him a great match for people who appreciate a dog who truly wants to do the right thing and make you happy. That's what this Golden boy really is all about, making you happy. On walks, Doug Lucky does great on leash and is happy to stroll the neighborhood or explore new places. He'll pull every now and then when he wants to say hello to a friendly face and he may even attempt to immediately go in for a hug LOL! He just loves everyone, he can't help himself. He rides beautifully in the car and is always ready to tag along for an adventure. That said, he’s just as content being a couch potato, soaking up love and relaxing by your side. Doug Lucky strikes that perfect balance. Laid-back, affectionate, friendly, and fun. He’s a textbook Golden Retriever in the best possible way and he’s ready to bring loyalty, laughter, and a whole lot of love into his forever home. Doug would love to go to a home that has a backyard where he roll around in the grass, soak in the sun during nice weather, and play with his tennis balls. He loves to play fetch and he enjoys being outside. Not as much as we love to be snuggling on the couch with you though. He might love that even more. Doug is an easy going fella and is an adaptable boy that knows how to match energies and be what you need him to be. If you’ve been waiting for a golden with a heart of gold, Doug Lucky is ready to meet you. We are willing to test Doug Lucky with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org Meet Creamsicle – The Golden-Hearted Girl Who Never Stopped Believing in Love At around 9 months old and 48 pounds, Creamsicle is a beautiful Golden Retriever–Great Pyrenees mix who somehow ended up with all the Golden personality and only the Pyrenees fluff. Sweet, friendly, eager, affectionate—this girl is sunshine in dog form. If Golden Retrievers had a motivational speaker division, Creamsicle would be the CEO. But her start wasn’t golden at all. Creamsicle spent her whole puppyhood tied to a tether outside a trailer, watching the world from a spot of dirt she never deserved. No toys. No soft beds. No one to run to. No one to run with. And yet… her heart never quit. When she first came to us, she had a little food aggression around other dogs—understandable when you’ve never known if your next meal was guaranteed. But with time, consistency, and the realization that she’s finally safe, Creamsicle has blossomed beautifully. She’s now doing wonderfully with her dog friends and has never shown an ounce of aggression toward people. Humans, in her eyes, are made of magic—especially the ones willing to pet her. And oh, does she love to be loved. She leans in, she wiggles, she smiles with her whole face. She gives love like she’s been storing it up for months—because she has. Creamsicle deserved so much more than what she got in her puppy months, but she refuses to dwell on the past. She’s too busy soaking up cuddles, handing out kisses, and living her best “I’m finally free!” life. Her capacity for forgiveness and joy would put most of us to shame. This girl is resilient, goofy, grateful, and ready. Ready for a family. Ready for a home. Ready to love—and to be loved back. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle, funny, deeply affectionate companion with a heart big enough to light up your whole house… Creamsicle is your girl. Apply today at haydududeequine.org, and get ready to welcome a brave, bouncy, golden-hearted miracle into your arms, heart and home!! 🐾

Story
We got Huxley from friends who had an accidental litter of pups. His mother is a golden mountain dog and his father is a golden doodle. We were not prepared for such a large dog as we thought he would be only near 45-50 pounds. He is near 100. We also thought he would be hypoallergenic because of the poodle and he is not. He is a sweet and gentle dog, and LOVES KIDS, but has LOTS of energy that he needs to work off psychologically as well as physically. We both work full time and we have come to realize that we are probably not the best home for him in order for him to be his happiest. We recently moved and our new place is even less comfortable for him to thrive. He needs at least 2 walks a day if he does not have a very large yard and needs lots of attention. We don’t think he is getting what he needs in our home. We are not in a huge hurry, we are willing to wait till just the right family comes along.

Story
Sadie is a great doggy! She's I believe 8 years old now. We took her in 2 years ago from a friend of the original owner who had passed away. We have two kids, and at first, she was great with the kiddos! Played fetch with them, cuddled, and everything! Then, we started noticing she has really bad anxiety.. didn't do too well being home by herself. She didn't make any messes or tear up the house other than destroying the blinds. We aren't home much to tend to her with our busy schedules, and it isn't fair to her. Basically we ask that someone take her in and love her wholeheartedly.

Story
Sadie is a great pup. We took her in from someone who had recently lost her husband and "Sadie was his dog." We've had her for two years. We have two young kids who aren't the quietest.. and we've noticed Sadie has bad anxiety where she can't tolerate loud noises. We also aren't home enough to help with her anxiety.. Basically what we're looking for is someone who can be home with her and tend to her needs, take her on walks and just love her as much as we love her. We hate to have her go, but it just isn't the right home for her.

Story
Meet beautiful "Mama" Blue -Hall of Famer & Seahawk Superfan! Blue is a gorgeous golden retriever, looking for a game winner in the PNW. A true "Ball Hawk" she knows the game and she loves her ball!! Our sweet Blue came into the rescue with Darnold as an owner surrender, while her past has not always been filled with big wins, she is ready for the biggest game winner of all - her own home with a forever family to cheer on! We expect she would be good with kids, but she has not been tested with kids or cats. She does have some resource guarding of her ball with her buddy, Darnold, so we would be looking for homes with children 10 and up. If you are ready to give your heart and get a golden heart superfan in return, and the ability to offer a soft place to land, she needs you now. Because loyalty like this deserves a family of her own. 6 years young, Blue will be adopted to a home with a secure yard for safe playtimes. Mama Blue is spayed, Microchipped and vaccinated included in her adoption donation.
