Story
SPRUCE GROVE, ON - Coconut’s story begins with someone who saw a dog in need and chose to step in. She was found in very poor condition—severely matted, underweight, and struggling with painful eye issues that required not one, but two corrective surgeries. It took time, care, and commitment to help her heal, and while her early chapter was not an easy one, it’s clear she was always a dog worth saving. As Coconut recovered, it also became clear that finding the right home for her was not going to be simple. Like many dogs who have experienced instability, she formed a strong bond with her caregiver, and there were questions about what kind of environment would allow her to truly thrive long-term. The family who saved her knew they didn't fully understand her and that’s when Standard Poodles In Need (SPIN) was contacted, and we were happy to step in and help Coconut on the next part of her journey—finding not just any home, but the right one.
