Story
Meet Kenya ~ Kenya is a beautiful, honey-colored Labradoodle with a gentle heart and a calm, loving personality. At just 8 month old and 36 pounds, she is the perfect medium-sized companion—easy to take along on adventures, but even happier curled up close for cuddles. This sweet girl was found alone on the streets and was thankfully rescued by someone who made sure she received the veterinary care and kindness she deserved. Now Kenya is ready for the safe, loving home she has been waiting for. Kenya is a peaceful, affectionate dog who enjoys being near her people. She rides wonderfully in the car, making her a lovely companion for errands, road trips, and weekend outings. She gets along peacefully with other dogs and does not look for conflict, but she also has the calm, independent nature to be perfectly happy as an only dog—especially if it means having her person’s love and attention. With her soft, non-shedding coat, gorgeous golden-honey coloring, and soulful presence, Kenya is as lovely on the outside as she is on the inside. She is looking for a home where she can finally relax, be cherished, and give all the cuddles she has been saving. If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, beautiful companion to share your life with, Kenya may be your girl.

Story
Meet Callie, a darling 7-year-old, 12-pound Poodle who recently joined us when a change in her family’s daily life and routine meant they could no longer care for her. Through no fault of her own, Callie is now looking for a new forever family to love—and she has plenty of love to give!Callie is a sweet, affectionate little lady who is easy to handle and very happy spending time in her humans’ laps. She also has a playful side, although toys don’t seem to be her thing. After all, why play with a toy when there’s a perfectly good lap available? This smart girl already knows “sit,” and since she’s treat-motivated, she may be happy to show off her skills—or learn a few new ones—when there’s a tasty reward involved. As a Poodle, Callie will need regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling her best. In return, she promises plenty of affection, companionship, and lap-warming expertise.Callie can’t wait to meet the family who will give her the loving forever home she deserves. Come meet this sweet girl and see if your lap might be the one she’s been waiting for!To get started on the adoption process, visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then stop by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. Or you can just come and see us and fill out a consultation form upon arrival! No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Name: Zurich Breed: Aussie/Poodle Mix Gender: Male (Already Neutered) Age: 4 Months Good with dogs (big+small?): I only have big dogs but I say yes, he would get along with a small dog too. Good with cats: Not sure, but he was previously with a cat rescue... so maybe. Good with kids? (If so, what ages): I haven't had him exposed to any kids yet. He is bad at wanting to jump at people a lot, so real small kids that may be an issue. Good with men: Yes! Crate trained/in process of: Mostly crate trained. Goes in very well but will whine sometimes at night for a few minutes before settling. Doggy door trained: Don't have one. Leash trained: Will be starting leash training soon. Knows any tricks: Currently working on basic commands. Getting pretty good at sit. Likes: All toys, running fast around the yard chasing the other dogs, being near his person. Dislikes: He does not like when a dog(s) tries to play too rough. Must haves: Someone patient to work on his training. Someone who is home a lot and/or another dog in the home. A yard to run around in or an active person. Apartment dog: I don't think so. He is not a big barker but when he is upset because he doesn't want to be shut up or sometimes when he wants a toy another dog has he can be a loud barker. Fun facts: Zurich can be a little timid with some things but he is a bouncing little acrobat with others things. I think after basic training he would do great at agility training. Ideal home: Zurich is almost/or fully deaf so he needs someone (or a family) that will be patient with him as he trains to be the great dog I know he will be. https://linktr.ee/loveconnectiondogrescueaz?utm_source=qr_code
