Story
This is Canelo — a sweet, nearly 7-year-old doodle with a heart full of love and energy to share. Canelo brings life and joy to any home. He’s active (sometimes a bit on the playful side!), but always in a fun, friendly way. He absolutely adores kids and has a gentle, patient nature with them. Whether it’s chasing a ball in the yard, going on walks, or simply being close to his people, Canelo is always ready to be part of the action. He’s house-trained, healthy, and fully up to date on all his vaccinations. What we’ll miss most are his cheerful energy, goofy personality, and the deep loyalty he shows once he bonds with you. We’re hoping to find Canelo a forever home where he can continue to thrive — ideally with a yard to run in and someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as he does. Most of all, we want him to be with someone who will love him like family. If you think you could be that person, we’d love to hear from you. Canelo is ready to bring love, laughter, and plenty of tai

Story
We bought our double doodles from the breeder/owner selling liter of pups. They are brothers and they are a little over a year old. One loves to play fetch his ball and the other one likes his stuffy toys. They are happy loving pups. Looking for a loving dog owner that can put in the time to get them a little more socialized with people and taking on walks. A backyard is a must!

Story
NOTE: MILLIE IS WITH HER PEOPLE IN SANTA ROSA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET MILLIE. WE ARE LISTING MILLIE ON THIS WEBSITE ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS TO GIVE HER MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO. "Millie" is a beautiful, 3½-yo, 65-lb, AKC-registered spayed female GSD who is sweet, protective and silly. Millie is healthy, microchipped and up-to-date on core vaccinations. Millie is fine with people who she meets when away from the house, but inside the house she is very protective of her people so they have to put her in her crate when people that she does not know come inside. Her people believe that Millie would do well with someone who has a property where she can run her heart out. Millie used to be OK with children, but recently she had a couple incidents in which she lunged at one of the two kids she lives with (8 & 10 yrs old). The first incident occurred after the older child had handled a friend’s dog, and the second incident occurred after the younger child had handled a friend’s cat. Neither incident resulted in a bite, but it was very scary for all involved. So, a home without children is now in order for Millie. Millie is good with medium & large-size dogs, but NOT with little dogs. She routinely attends a doggy day care where she plays well with the other dogs. Millie has never been around cats and likely would not do well with them. So, we are seeking a home without cats for Millie. Millie is housetrained and is left free to roam inside when her people are gone for several hours. She received formal obedience training when she was a puppy. Millie walks great on a leash and is non-reactive towards other dogs who she sees when on walks. Millie’s off-leash recall could use some improvement. Millie is a calm passenger in a vehicle. She loves to play with balls. Millie’s people purchased her from a breeder in Cotati when she was a puppy. Though Millie is a very valued member of the family, the two near-bite incidents with the children have made it stressful to manage her—keeping doors closed, separating her from visitors, and worrying constantly about kids in the house. The anxiety has become too much for the family, so they are now seeking a new home for Millie. Millie is located in Santa Rosa. Her adoption fee is $100. Story
We got our dog two years ago and a year and a half ago.We found out my mom had cancer. We were unable to give Bailey the care that she needed And attention, and because my mom has a port in her chest, we couldn't let her in the house risking. She would jump on her and hurt her. She is very playful, loves to snuggle and is great with kids. She's a great guard dog.

Story
Rondo is a such a sweet boy! He is a goof ball with a big heart. He walks well on a leash and loves to play in the yard. He’s a bit clumsy when trying to catch a ball, but is committed to working on that skill. He is a friendly, slightly shy boy who would love to get out of the crowded shelter. Rondo has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in his new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out his playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
We have a transport where we will be personally driving our dogs home leaving on 12/13/25 to NorCal, OR, and WA. Surrounding states will be added to our route as needed ☺️ We would love to add Bailey to our trip for the right home! Some dogs enter your life with a burst of excitement, but Bailey enters like a calm sunrise — warm, steady, gentle, and full of quiet devotion. She is a beautifully mannered young Labradoodle with a soft hypoallergenic poodle coat, meaning no shedding and endless snuggles to enjoy. Born on October 1st, 2024, she is full grown at just under 43 lbs — a healthy, smaller-framed girl with the sweetest presence and a heart that simply wants a person to love again. Bailey came from a caring home, but life changed in ways she couldn’t understand. Her owners went through a divorce, and although both loved her, she became tied to a chapter that was closing. The wife didn’t want to take anything connected to the marriage with her — including Bailey. Her husband adored her, but his long work hours made it impossible to give her the consistent time, attention, and companionship she deserved. With a heavy heart, he reached out to us and asked if we could take her in and find the home he always hoped she would have. His love for her showed in every word, and we’ve carried that same care forward while she has been with us. From the first day, Bailey showed us exactly who she is: calm, gentle, affectionate, and deeply connected to people. She naturally gravitates toward her person and finds so much joy simply being by your side. She is wonderful with other dogs and cats — kind, respectful, and easygoing — but because she was the only dog in her previous home, learning to play with other animals is something she is slowly exploring. Her comfort has always been with humans, and that bond is where she truly shines. She can be cautious when meeting someone new, which is a classic poodle trait, but it isn’t fear — she just needs a moment to feel safe. Once she senses kindness, her heart opens beautifully. Bring a few treats, and she’ll warm up even faster, as she is very food motivated. She is not a barker, but she does communicate softly when she needs or wants something. Her nature is tender, quiet, and very sweet, and she carries herself in a way that makes you feel calm just by being near her. Bailey has wonderful home manners. She is crate trained and sleeps peacefully through the night, though she’d be just as happy with a cozy bed beside her person, as closeness is truly her happy place. She loves road trips and is always eager to hop into the car and go anywhere with us. She enjoys grooming appointments and absolutely soaks up the compliments — she knows she’s beautiful and appreciates every bit of attention. Her leash training has improved tremendously, and she walks with confidence and ease now. Bailey’s adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of her adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/bailey-1 It covers her spay, vaccines, microchip/registration, dental cleaning and polish, and her full exam with our vet. It also reflects the months of care, training, grooming, and love we’ve invested into preparing her for her forever family. Bailey is an extraordinary girl — soft-hearted, intuitive, loyal, and genuinely loving. Anyone would be blessed to share their life with her. If you are looking for a companion who will walk beside you, feel safe with you, and love you with her whole heart, Bailey may be the one whose story is meant to continue with yours.
