Dogs will be spayed/neutered through us prior to finalizing any adoption. ********If dog/pup is showing as available it is available. Please do not email asking if it is. Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Honey! Honey is a sweet 5-year old Goldendoodle and former puppy mill mama who is now learning how wonderful life can be as a family dog who is loved. She is doing great with her potty training and is still learning how to signal when she needs to go outside. A consistent routine will be key for her success! Honey also walks nicely on her leash, and does great on car rides. Honey has absolutely blossomed into an affectionate girl who loves attention and is not remotely shy about asking for it. She has found a gentle paw tap to ask for some more pets is an effective and sweet way to get them. She also does enjoy toys, but prefers it as more of an independent activity. She is dog-friendly and does best with calm adult dogs since puppy energy can overwhelm her. Honey would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She seems to be a little nervous going through doorways, so there are things that she will need patience and reassurance to learn. She is ready for a home who can help continue to build her confidence, let her know she is safe and shower her with love. If you would like to meet this adorable dog an application must be filled out: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on Facebook. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents. We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit

Story
We got Lady as a puppy back in 2020 from a breeder of a couple litters of golden doodles by the same parents. Over the years we have gotten busier and we have a young child. Lady has never snapped or bitten anyone or another dog but her temperament does not seem to be suited for a child that will crawl on her or tug at her. Otherwise, we have never seen aggressive behavior. I want her to be able to go to a new home where the owners have plenty of time for her and can provide the life she deserves. Thank you !!

Story
Quill is about 2 years old and has packed a lot of living into the past 3 months. His early years are a mystery, though some of his behaviors indicate that perhaps he wasn’t loved or cared for properly. He and two dog friends were on the run in the woods for about three weeks in October. When he was captured, Billy had a face full of porcupine quills. He came into rescue at Susie Q and the other foster dogs behavior and has grown more confident each day. He likes to share spaces with other dogs, who have demonstrated that it is okay to sleep on the bed, lie on the couch and ensure that the counters are clean. He is most comfortable sleeping near (or on) his furry friends as his pictures show. Quill is hand shy and still fearful of being restrained (leashed) but is getting more tolerant each time. He is doing well with his potty training once he knows what is expected of him. He is not crate trained and because of his history of escaping and running a fenced in yard is a must for this boy. I believe he would do best in a home with a mentor dog to show him how to be a pet. His last requirement is only that someone love him forever and be ready to teach him the rest of his dog skills. His adoption fee is $350. Please go to the website and fill out an application if you are interested in meeting him. www.susieqdogresq.com
