Story
We got Lady as a puppy back in 2020 from a breeder of a couple litters of golden doodles by the same parents. Over the years we have gotten busier and we have a young child. Lady has never snapped or bitten anyone or another dog but her temperament does not seem to be suited for a child that will crawl on her or tug at her. Otherwise, we have never seen aggressive behavior. I want her to be able to go to a new home where the owners have plenty of time for her and can provide the life she deserves. Thank you !!

Story
Boo is a sweet 13 year-old golden doodle who loves holding your hand and getting pets. She was originally my parents’s dog and was with my mom 24/7 almost until she passed 4 years ago. She was left in my care but I have a busy schedule so I cannot give her the attention or care she needs and deserves. She is alone for up to 23 hours a day sometimes. She had a pomapoo sister up until last year and grew up with up to 10 cats in the house, so she is used to other animals. She was never fixed but she is an elderly dog now. At the moment she does go on pee-pee pads in the house but she loves walks and will go to the bathroom outside too. I just do not have time to take her out as much as she needs. Ideally, she would do well with someone who is home a lot. I would be willing to take her to the vet to update her shots before adoption as well.

Adoption Application: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication. Dogs will be spayed/neutered through us prior to finalizing any adoption. ********If dog/pup is showing as available it is available. Please do not email asking if it is. Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Honey! Honey is a sweet 5-year old Goldendoodle and former puppy mill mama who is now learning how wonderful life can be as a family dog who is loved. She is doing great with her potty training and is still learning how to signal when she needs to go outside. A consistent routine will be key for her success! Honey also walks nicely on her leash, and does great on car rides. Honey has absolutely blossomed into an affectionate girl who loves attention and is not remotely shy about asking for it. She has found a gentle paw tap to ask for some more pets is an effective and sweet way to get them. She also does enjoy toys, but prefers it as more of an independent activity. She is dog-friendly and does best with calm adult dogs since puppy energy can overwhelm her. Honey would also be perfectly content as an only dog. She seems to be a little nervous going through doorways, so there are things that she will need patience and reassurance to learn. She is ready for a home who can help continue to build her confidence, let her know she is safe and shower her with love. If you would like to meet this adorable dog an application must be filled out: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on Facebook. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents. We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit

Story
Cookie - 4 years, 45lbs, Doodle Mix, Spayed  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Our Team Says: "Cookie is an awesome girl. She's come a long way. When she first arrived she hid under a bed for a whole week. But you would have never known if we hadn't told you. She's really become a wonderful dog. One of her foster homes did report that she had seperation anxiety but she is not displaying anything concerning in her current foster home. She does great in a home with a friend (her size or smaller) and if you leave her home alone every single day - starting the day you get her - she gets into a good routine and is perfect home alone for hours at a time. Just drop a treat or a kong for her on your way out and she doesn't worry about you leaving." Her Foster Parent Says: "Shocking to know in 10 years of fostering non-stop this is our first doodle. They usually get snatached up and we lean towards the heavy shedding breeds. But we're not going to lie - we really love petting her soft fur and our vacuum is getting a nice vacation. Cookie ended up with us because she was having bad separation anxiety in her previous home. We're happy to report that she's been a lamb for us. She just needs the right set up: a home with another dog, really strong communication from her people, to be left home alone every single day - starting the day you bring her home and it doesn't hurt to give her a kong right before you leave. Follow this formula and you have an A plus teddy bear in your home. She's so easy to take care of: potty trained, really good on the leash and non destructive. She loves my resident dog - gives her kisses everyday. She's an awesome work from home buddy and a great snuggle bug (but be careful - you don't want to develop an unhealthy attachment style for her). She's got an incredibly sweet and chill demeanor. She also has the best tail bounce/wag while she walks - it brings a smile to our face every walk we take. If you happen to be a doodle fan and have another dog she's a no brainer for you. She's been an utter joy to have with us." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy levelMEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?Yes - not phased by much. Doing great here.  Potty trained?Yes - no accidents  Social with other dogs?Yes she likes dogs her size or smaller  Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Okay in a home with respectful chidlren. She's really gentle and sweet.   MOUTHY BEHAVIORPast this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtimeSEPARATION ANXIETYNo - if you set her up for success :) There's a cheat code :) LEASH MANNERSOld Pro – Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction. CUDDLE BUG LEVELMedium Hight  – Likes to snuggle when she’s in the mood but often stays in her own bed JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOListens to correction – Only jumps on people they know when really excited, stops with correction.CRATE TRAININGWe don't use one - she doesn't need it  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from the South or Puerto Rico ; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.
