Story
Howdy from Texas! I’m Lola. A sweet and well-mannered 4-year-old Goldendoodle, weighing 45 lbs. I was very matted and underweight when I was rescued from an abusive owner in San Antonio, Texas. The lady who rescued me was a vet tech, planning to keep me and had me groomed, vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed, along with a gastroplexy surgery as a preventative measure. Sadly, the resident dog wasn't happy having a doggy friend, so I was placed with 4 Little Paws Rescue, moved to a foster home, and now I'm ready to find a forever home! My foster parents are amazed by my lovely personality. Although I am shy/timid at first, likely from my horrible past, I have a very gentle nature. I love other dogs and kitty cats, making a wonderful doggy playmate or companion. I love playing chase, being cuddled, going for walks or rides in the car, and I am always happy for treats and rewards. I am well-behaved and rarely bark. I am housebroken and crate-trained, although there has been no need for me to use a crate, as I have free rein of the house with the resident dog. My foster parents want you to know that I am a sweet and gentle cuddlebug, very people-friendly once acquainted. I am well-trained, walk very nicely on a leash, and I do great at the groomers. I respond to most commands, and have now learned hand signals. Loud noises still scare me, so a peaceful home would be ideal. East Coast people, inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Cookie - 4 years, 45lbs, Doodle Mix, Spayed  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Our Team Says: "Cookie is an awesome girl. She's come a long way. When she first arrived she hid under a bed for a whole week. But you would have never known if we hadn't told you. She's really become a wonderful dog. One of her foster homes did report that she had seperation anxiety but she is not displaying anything concerning in her current foster home. She does great in a home with a friend (her size or smaller) and if you leave her home alone every single day - starting the day you get her - she gets into a good routine and is perfect home alone for hours at a time. Just drop a treat or a kong for her on your way out and she doesn't worry about you leaving." Her Foster Parent Says: "Shocking to know in 10 years of fostering non-stop this is our first doodle. They usually get snatached up and we lean towards the heavy shedding breeds. But we're not going to lie - we really love petting her soft fur and our vacuum is getting a nice vacation. Cookie ended up with us because she was having bad separation anxiety in her previous home. We're happy to report that she's been a lamb for us. She just needs the right set up: a home with another dog, really strong communication from her people, to be left home alone every single day - starting the day you bring her home and it doesn't hurt to give her a kong right before you leave. Follow this formula and you have an A plus teddy bear in your home. She's so easy to take care of: potty trained, really good on the leash and non destructive. She loves my resident dog - gives her kisses everyday. She's an awesome work from home buddy and a great snuggle bug (but be careful - you don't want to develop an unhealthy attachment style for her). She's got an incredibly sweet and chill demeanor. She also has the best tail bounce/wag while she walks - it brings a smile to our face every walk we take. If you happen to be a doodle fan and have another dog she's a no brainer for you. She's been an utter joy to have with us." Level of dog ownership experience needed:INTERMEDIATE: This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy levelMEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?Yes - not phased by much. Doing great here.  Potty trained?Yes - no accidents  Social with other dogs?Yes she likes dogs her size or smaller  Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)Okay in a home with respectful chidlren. She's really gentle and sweet.   MOUTHY BEHAVIORPast this stage– Little to no interest in chewing on stuff or putting things in their mouth that aren’t food. Doesn’t try to chew on hands, feet, etc. during playtimeSEPARATION ANXIETYNo - if you set her up for success :) There's a cheat code :) LEASH MANNERSOld Pro – Doesn’t pull hard or need much direction. CUDDLE BUG LEVELMedium Hight  – Likes to snuggle when she’s in the mood but often stays in her own bed JUMPING ON PEOPLE TO SAY HELLOListens to correction – Only jumps on people they know when really excited, stops with correction.CRATE TRAININGWe don't use one - she doesn't need it  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from the South or Puerto Rico ; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. Story
Tate is a happy, energetic boy with a big love for movement and play. He thrives on exercise and is always up for a good game of fetch (seriously… throw the ball and you’ll have his whole heart). 🐕‍🦺🎾 At home with his family, Tate knows how to relax and chill—he’s perfectly content hanging out once his energy is burned off. But when guests come over? That’s party time! He gets very excited and loves being part of the action, making him a fun, social dog who truly enjoys people. One of Tate’s most charming tricks: he’s bell trained and will politely ring a bell when he needs to go outside. Smart and mannerly—what more could you want? Tate would do best with an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and engaging with their dog. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s playful, intelligent, and full of personality, Tate might just be your perfect match. ❤️

Story
Bucky (7 years old) and Luna (turning 6 in June) are a bonded pair looking for one loving forever home together. Both dogs are very active, intelligent, and fully potty trained. Bucky is extremely kind, affectionate, smart, and a bit clingy in the sweetest way. He does very well with kids and cats. While he may bark or growl when seeing other dogs outside, he has never attacked another dog. Luna is also very smart, energetic, and requires a good amount of attention. She does well with kids (we have a 9-month-old baby), cats, and other dogs. These two are deeply attached to one another and have grown up together, so it is very important that they stay together. They would thrive in a home that can give them love, time, attention, and the commitment they deserve.

Story
Billy is about 2 years old and has packed a lot of living into the past 3 months. His early years are a mystery, though some of his behaviors indicate that perhaps he wasn’t loved or cared for properly. He and two dog friends were on the run in the woods for about three weeks in October. When he was captured, Billy had a face full of porcupine quills. He came into rescue at Susie Q and was able to be moved to foster care with mentor dogs George and Betty. He watched them and mimicked their behavior and has grown more confident each day. He is quite connected to George, who has demonstrated that it is okay to sleep on the bed, lie on the couch and ensure that the counters are clean. He is most comfortable sleeping near (or on) his furry friends as his pictures show. Billy is hand shy and still fearful of being restrained (leashed) but is getting more tolerant each time. He is doing well with his potty training once he knows what is expected of him. He is not crate trained and because of his history of escaping and running a fenced in yard is a must for this boy. I believe he would do best in a home with a mentor dog to show him how to be a pet. His last requirement is only that someone love him forever and be ready to teach him the rest of his dog skills. His adoption fee is $350. Please go to the website and fill out an application if you are interested in meeting him. www.susieqdogresq.com

Story
Meet Sriracha, a 2-year old, 72-pound, black-and-white Goldendoodle/ Poodle mix who has a VERY spicy name, but an EXTREMELY mild-mannered soul. This gentle giant is fully housebroken, crate trained, and an absolute angel at home - - no chewing, no mischief, no furniture parkour. Just good vibes and cozy companionship. Sriracha is a certified cuddlebug who loves being petted, hanging close to his people, and lounging like a professional couch potato - - but he’s always down for a robust walk or some outdoor time. Sriracha doesn’t shed, does not overeat, and obediently sits on command. Strong and enthusiastic, Sriracha is still working on his leash skills and may pull toward and bark at other dogs he sees while out and about, most likely because he’s trying to to say hello and wants to play. He’s just a big happy goofball! Uniquely good-looking with extremely interesting markings, Sriracha turns heads wherever he goes. He is friendly, engaging, and sweet toward humans, and seems like the type of fella who would fit in well in just about any type of living arrangement. If you’re looking for a stunning, affectionate, chill shadow who wants to be wherever you are, Sriracha might be the perfect sauce to add a bit of zing to your life. This guy is a real heart throb!
