Story
Meet this sweet, energetic 2-year-old pup who is full of personality and love. He was purchased from Fur Kingdom in Richmond, VA, and has grown into a playful, affectionate companion who truly enjoys being around people. He is the definition of a cuddle bug—always ready to snuggle up after a good play session. He’s incredibly lovable, friendly with others, and has a naturally protective side that makes him a loyal companion. Whether it’s playing fetch, going for walks, or just spending time with his people, he thrives on attention and interaction. At just 2 years old, he still has plenty of energy and would do best in a home that can keep up with his playful spirit. He needs an owner who is experienced with dogs, has a flexible schedule, and can provide ample time for exercise, playtime, and companionship. He would be a perfect match for someone looking for a devoted, fun-loving dog who will bring both joy and comfort into their home.

Story
Tripp is the coolest dog! He is a very happy boy who loves snuggles. He rides great in the car, does excellent for grooming, loves to hike, walks well on a leash. The problem is that I have another male dog that is extremely anxious. The other dog nips at Tripps feet. He does not seem bothered until this happens and then he will attempt to defend himself. Tripp does great around female dogs and non-dominant male dogs. He would be best in a home where he is the single pet, but has been around dogs his whole life. This boy is the gentlest boy with kids, loves to make you giggle.

Story
Hamilton Goldendoodle mini Male Red 12 months old 29lbs Meet Hamilton: Hamilton is looking for a very specific, stable, and experienced home after being adopted out by another shelter several times. He is a sweet, sensitive dog who can be fearful at first and needs time, patience, and consistency to feel safe. Hamilton thrives in calm, quiet environments and becomes overwhelmed in busy or noisy homes, so he is seeking a low-activity household with a fenced yard (no apartments), a female-only home (he is currently fearful of men), and an experienced adopter who is home often and able to provide structure and routine. He requires close supervision, a puppy-proofed space, and cannot be crated or placed in a playpen (baby gates work well). Like a young puppy, he is still learning appropriate chewing habits and may target items like socks, shoes, or remotes. Hamilton also needs a consistent potty routine and multiple short daily walks, as he often prefers to go #2 on walks, even with yard access. These walks are essential for both training and mental enrichment. When he feels safe and his needs are met, Hamilton is a loving cuddle bug, loyal companion, and wonderful walking partner who bonds deeply with his person and does well with calm dogs. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting HAMILTON, please visit our website at www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to learn about our adoption process and download the adoption application HAMILTON's adoption donation is $995

Story
Koda is a year old with lots of energy. He loves to play fetch and tug of war. Loves going for walks and being outside in general. Does not like to be alone; needs lots of playtime. Would probably do great in a home with another dog. Only behavioral issue we have had is “marking” in the house when he is not getting the attention he wants. Rehoming due to lack of time for him. He is a sweet dog, and we love him, but just really do not have the time or energy to care for him. We’ve had previous dogs with no problem, we just did not anticipate the amount of attention this breed needs. He does potentially have a medical issue with his liver. Bloodwork and ultrasound has ruled many things out. Vet thinks it may be copper storage syndrome which is treatable, He needs a biopsy to confirm. Currently, her recommendation is to neuter and do a biopsy simultaneously. The estimate we received for this was 1500-2000.

Story
Piper is a loving and energetic Golden-doodle/Lab mix. She turned 2 years old in January and loves other dogs and kids. She has been around kids as young as 3 years old and did well with them. She loves to run around and explore and dig. She would do well on a farm or with a large fenced in backyard. Unfortunately, I am moving and wont have the space she deserves to run around and play. She has been a great companion. She is house trained and crate trained. She does require frequent brushing, but she does well with that.

Story
Bear is a great dog and gets along with kids but is still too hyper for small kids. He is very loving and wants to be by your side constantly. Bear needs a couple shots and a good grooming, he does great at the vet/groomers but is afraid on car rides. Bear is 4 years old but very much has the energy of a brand new puppy he needs lots of play time and exercise.
