Story
Meet Charlie, a magnificent 4-year-old Great Dane with the biggest heart! Charlie lives up to the nickname Velcro in the best way possible; he is incredibly loyal and will happily be your shadow, following you from room to room just to be close. He has a wonderful, protective presence and is a great guard dog who will certainly let you know if someone is at the door! When he's not on guard duty, Charlie is a playful boy who also happens to be a world-class couch potato, always ready for a good snuggle session. He has a ton of character and will bring endless joy and laughter to his new family. Special Consids: Charlie has enjoyed a home-prepped diet for 1yr. He used to eat kibble. I cook 7-8 days worth of food at a time. Aves for Improvement: He is a sensitive soul and can be afraid of new things (even something as simple as a box can block his path! Charlie had his 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of vaccines as a puppy, but had a reaction to them so we opted to not have him take any more.

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact Kirsten, 602-785-8900, kirsten.gellhaus@gmail.com:   MEET MOOSE #3!! Moose is a bombastic lover boy who wants to either be sitting all 79 lbs of himself on your lap or running at the dog park. He loves attention, fetch, and playing with his toys. Moose knows basic commands such as sit, down, shake, "look at me", come, leave it, spin, stay, and place. He follows his commands well at home but needs work in high distraction environments, especially his recall. He also needs some work with leash training. He does well most of the time but walks often turn into tug-of-war with the leash. With lots of treats and consistency, he can be the best boy on walks! In the past, Moose has struggled with letting men approach him while on walks. However, with lots of socialization he has improved wonderfully. He has no issues with people while going to Home Depot or the dog park. In the home, however, Moose can be quite territorial (barking and growling at guest when entering the home). It's best to introduce him to guests outside the home while they take a seat or have him in another room while guests find a seat and are ready to meet him. This will guarantee that Moose will melt in their lap. He is crate trained and potty trained, but he will not signal he needs to go outside. He can also get excited when someone comes home and may let out a "sprinkle." Until he outgrows this behavior, you will want to quickly take him outside as soon as you get home. This way he can get out his happy wiggles. Moose is still a young boy with a lot of energy but a heart of gold. Meet Moose today! Story
Characteristics: Milo has shown to be a very sweet, lazy boy. If he had it his way, he'd be laying in the sun all day, preferably with his dog besties. We believe his is a Great Dane mix due to his long face and body, as well as the tone of his bark. He is socialized with both people and dogs, but can be uneasy meeting dogs who are nervous or standoffish. Background: Milo came to us as a shelter bypass dog from PACC, at only six months old. His background is unknown, but shows some characteristics of being taken from the litter too early. He has been with us for a year and a half now, waiting for his forever home. Current progress: Milo has been around a lot of other dogs at Como, but has a hard time adjusting to the constant stimulus. He has undergone basic obedience training (sit, stay, no), and will wait for his food very politely. He is crate trained, and potty trained. Cat tested: Upon request Kids: Older children, young children upon request On leash: Can pull, very receptive to training. Behavior concerns: Milo is food excitable, different to resource guarding, but still should be separated from other dogs in the home when feeding. He is also very puppy-like in his play language, likely due to being separated from the litter too early. He can be a little nippy when excited but has not shown intent to escalate the behavior. Training receptiveness: Very high food drive, high toy drive. Can be a bit puppy-like during play. When you adopt a dog from Como Animal Works, you are provided free boarding as a courtesy and comfort of the dog being familiar with our facility. We also provide free training sessions on-site or at the home while the dog is transitioning to home life. Our goal is to help keep dogs out of overcrowded shelters and provide much needed dog socialization during that time.

Story
Let’s start with the obvious… Marmi is BIG! HUGE! GINORMOUS! This sweet boy is the size of a horse and at almost 130 pounds, could still stand to gain some weight and fill out. Small dog lovers need not apply- but, if you like a dog who needs a twin sized mattress for a bed, eats like an elephant, and is taller than you when he stands on his hind legs, this boy is for you!! Marmi has the droopiest lips that flap in the wind when he lopes around the play yard, takes treats gently, and is a big old lovebug! During a brief stay in a home Marmi did well with kids, small dogs and even livestock. He was house trained, well- behaved when left home alone, and was described as a playful boy who loves toys, car rides, and being close to his people. Here’s what one friend at the shelter said:“I took Marmi out because LOOK AT HIM. He`s beautiful! He is very strong but is super friendly and food motivated. He leans in for pets and listens when you want him to walk a different direction.”Marmi has been playful and social when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. If you have room (like… a whole lot of room) in your home and your heart, ask to meet Marmi today!!

Story
In the 90s, Miss Cleo was on everyone’s TV screens in commercials for the Psychic Readers Network- you could just dial the phone and pay by the minute to hear your future! Well, Miss Cleo was just an actress, but our Cleo really can predict the future. In fact, she looked into her crystal ball and saw you coming to the shelter to meet her!Cleo is a beautiful, big, and very gentle senior who loves people. She soaks up pets without being pushy and calmly leans in for love. She may be the size of a horse, but she’s as gentle as a lamb! Here’s what one volunteer said:“I adore Cleo. She’s quiet and calm in her kennel, always looking out in the hopes of getting some fresh air and cuddle time. I often take her to a play yard where she explores a bit, but she spends most of her time leaning against me and enjoying pets and scratches. She is such a lovely senior girl and too big and sweet for a shelter kennel!”Cleo has been easygoing and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup. Make Cleo’s predictions a reality- come meet her today!!
