Meet Mr. Bruce!We have no idea how this big, handsome guy is still waiting for his forever home. Bruce is a St. Bernard/Great Dane mix and the definition of a gentle giant. Between his sweet personality and those big chocolate brown eyes, he has a way of charming everyone he meets. Bruce is a lover through and through. He’s always happy to see his caregivers, soak up some extra attention, and share his signature slobbery kisses and giant hugs. Truthfully? Bruce is convinced he’s a lap dog... and while his heart may fit perfectly in your lap, his giant self definitely does not. This big guy has so much love to give and would happily spend his days cuddled up with his favorite people.Bruce has been a wonderful shelter resident and continues to show us what a good boy he is. We were told he is friendly with kids and other animals, and here at the shelter he keeps a clean space and is generally well-mannered on leash. He would make a wonderful addition to a variety of homes.One thing Bruce will need in his forever home is plenty of companionship. This affectionate guy does struggle with some separation anxiety, and he would love a family where he doesn’t have to spend long periods of time alone. In fact, when Bruce decides he needs to find his people, he’s been known to put his impressive size to work and channel his inner Kool-Aid Man, busting through doors and hopping fences. His future family will need to be prepared to safely supervise his outdoor adventures and help him feel comfortable when he’s home alone.Bruce has been patiently waiting for someone to see what we see: a big, goofy, loving dog who just wants to be someone’s best friend. His perfect match is out there, and we know they’re going to absolutely adore this gentle giant.**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. 🍫Nelson 🍫🍪Nelson is a big beautiful 120 pound chocolate Great Dane. He is estimated to be around 3 years old. Nelson was not socialized properly as a puppy so he has been spending some time with our friends at Perfect Pet. 🍩He can be a little stubborn but he’s doing well at training. Nelson needs someone willing to continue working with him - his least favorite command is “down”. He seems to like other large dogs but small dogs tend to make him uncomfortable. We are unsure how Nelson is with cats at this time. Due to his size and strength, he would be best with older children. 🍪With people, Nelson loves affection. He would love a fenced in yard to enjoy! He does also have some food allergies which he was allergy tested so we can provide a list of ingredients to avoid in his food. 🍩Nelson is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm prevention. Story
Sage is 3 years old, smart and loving with LOTS of energy. Along with the husky and great Dane mix, she has some cane Corso in her too. She was taken into our home because the home she was born into was extremely unhealthy. We felt we could offer her better but it was a situation of biting off more than we could chew. Due to medical reasons in the family, she needs more training and exercise than we can provide. She is stronger than the main person in charge of her care and that adds to the difficulties. She gets along with most everyone who lives (4 kids 4 cats and 1 med. dog) and comes to our house but she has had one bad incident with a neighbors small dog, which was our tipping point to feeling it's time to surrender so that nothing worse happens, though we love her dearly. She needs a big yard where she can run to her hearts content and someone who has the physical strength required to assist in training and making sure she can be controlled if her exciteable drive takes over.
