Story
The Most Gentle Soul - Meet Bug, a foster in desperate need of help.We are losing the battle to save this dog’s life.Bug is described by his foster family of a year as incredibly smart and gentle. He does well with other dogs, is calm and neutral with cattle around (no close contact, but we suspect he would do well). He is about 3 years old. Our family had him fixed. No resource guarding, not high energy at all (described as almost lazy, loves a good porch to lounge on, loves puzzles). He is not a runner. He is as sweet as cotton candy. Sleeps well alone overnight. Doesn't potty in his quiet room but is often outside so we don't know how compliant he would be without some guidance. Loves kids but overexcited. He is a really beautiful boy who was found in Newton several months ago. My family has been fostering him since, but our situation has become desperate and we cannot keep him any longer.

Story
Let me introduce myself!I'm Mila. I recently lost my home when my owner, who has had me since I was just a baby, had medical issues that caused her to not be able to take care of me. She's hoping that bringing me to the shelter can give me the life she wants me to have.Because I've been with my family my whole life, I'm a little nervous around new people but I warm up into a fantastic friend! I love getting pets from my friends!I know to go outside to use the bathroom, whether that is with walkies or in a backyard. When my family would leave the house, they would leave me out in the house where I could stretch my legs, and in return I kept the house nice and tidy.If you happen to be looking for a cuddle bug then you are in luck because I LOVE to cuddle! I used to sleep in my mom's bed all the time to keep her warm at night but I'm sure I can learn the ropes of a dog bed as well.Even though I'm a big dog, I'm totally fine with small walks and short stints outside, especially in the Texas heat!My mom was extremely heartbroken that she had to bring me to the shelter, but she said a really nice family would hopefully come get me soon and that I would have a fantastic life that every dog deserves. Can you be my new family? Story
Meet Watson—your future best friend, loyal companion, and the kind of dog who always seems like he’s one step away from solving the mystery of who’s going to throw the next ball. With his soft, light-colored coat, expressive eyes, and ever-wagging tail, Watson has a warm, inviting presence that makes it easy to fall for him. He has a friendly, attentive face that lights up when people approach, and he clearly loves being part of the action. Watson is a smart, engaged boy who already knows several commands including “sit,” “play nice,” and polite mealtime routines like sitting and waiting for “go ahead.” He even understands some Spanish cues, showing just how tuned in he is to his people. He enjoys sniffy walks where he can take in all the “clues” of the world, loves to run and play, and has a fun, goofy personality that makes him a joy to be around. Recently returned to us, Watson is settling back in and showing us exactly who he is—a loyal, affectionate dog who loves both activity and connection. Once he’s had his fill of adventure, he’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles with his favorite humans. Like a true Watson, he’s observant, clever, and always ready to be by your side—whether you’re solving the mysteries of the day or just enjoying a quiet moment together.

Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again.
