Meet Watson—your future best friend, loyal companion, and the kind of dog who always seems like he’s one step away from solving the mystery of who’s going to throw the next ball. With his soft, light-colored coat, expressive eyes, and ever-wagging tail, Watson has a warm, inviting presence that makes it easy to fall for him. He has a friendly, attentive face that lights up when people approach, and he clearly loves being part of the action. Watson is a smart, engaged boy who already knows several commands including “sit,” “play nice,” and polite mealtime routines like sitting and waiting for “go ahead.” He even understands some Spanish cues, showing just how tuned in he is to his people. He enjoys sniffy walks where he can take in all the “clues” of the world, loves to run and play, and has a fun, goofy personality that makes him a joy to be around. Recently returned to us, Watson is settling back in and showing us exactly who he is—a loyal, affectionate dog who loves both activity and connection. Once he’s had his fill of adventure, he’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles with his favorite humans. Like a true Watson, he’s observant, clever, and always ready to be by your side—whether you’re solving the mysteries of the day or just enjoying a quiet moment together.

Story
Meet Mabel! Mabel is a big Great Dane girlie who looks even more beautiful in real life. She is sweet, silly, and cuddly - an incredibly loyal girl who just wants to love on you and sleep all day.Mabel loves toys! She’s gone through her toy bin and has picked up everything, trotting around the house squeaking them in her mouth. She will throw them up in the air then lunge onto the couch (though she’s so tall it doesn’t look like hard work at all). She does not enjoy sharing toys with dogs though, so if she’s playing make sure the toys are for her only!mabel has medium energy and will occasionally get "slow zoomies". Because she's such a giant, her zoomies are in slow motion compared to a smaller dog, but she sure looks cute with her version of zoomies! She loves to make sure all her toys are still around after she's had the zooms, then proceeds to pass out on the couch once she's checked in with them all.Mabel was in a room with a medium male dog at the shelter, but she would do wonderfully without a friend too. She loves attention and as long as she gets a lot of love from you, she’d be set in an only-human home. She prefers to play and eat independently, at least initially while she decompresses and learns to trust any dog siblings. Initially, she needs at least a couple of weeks before really meeting any dog friends. If you do have another dog, her foster mom will set up a time to have a meet-and-greet for them both at the shelter to make sure it's a fit and that everyone gets along well! That said, she seems to be curious about her cat sisters and likely will be good with cats (just needs slow exposure and maybe a confident cat!)Mabel would be a wonderful companion for someone who has had experience with large dogs or someone who understands that there will be a LOOOOT of drool (it’s her love language). Because she’s big, she would love to have some space and a yard, but it's not a dealbreaker if you’re down to give her a few walks and play time so she can stretch her long legs! Please reach out if you want to meet her and get ready to fall in love with the sweetest giant! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Merle Weight: 105 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
This is Boone. He is a 9 years old fawn Great Dane. His owner is an elderly person and she can no longer take care of Boone, so she reached out to us asking for help to find Boone a new home. Boone is a senior dog, but he is in excellent health, still believes he's a puppy. He has a sweet personality. He gets along with the other dog in the house, but probably prefer being an only dog. He's never displayed any aggression. He's housebroken and good on a leash and he loves going on walks. If you would like to give this sweet giant boy a new home, please go to our website and fill out the adoption application.

Story
This is Deputy Dewey. He is a Gorgeous 20-months-old Great Dane. Best description of his color- Brindlequine. Dewey loves everyone. He wants to play with all the dogs that he meets. Good around cats. He is a clumsy puppy and full of energy (ADHD). Dewey is house broken. When in the house he can be mouthy and he will chew stuffed animals and pillows, so when he’s not supervised, he needs to be in a kennel. Will need basic training because he has no manners and no regards to “personal space”, but he is learning. He is a typical Velcro Dane. He loves to run outside and play, so it's best that he goes to a home with other playful dog(s). He loves playing in water and likes to go in the car and riding in a gulf cart. Story
Meet Boone – A Gentle Soul Ready for a Fresh Start Boone is a striking Great Dane and Black Mouth Cur mix at 65 pounds with soulful eyes and a quiet, thoughtful demeanor. Rescued after being abandoned on the roadside, Boone's past suggests he was used as a hunting dog and likely spent much of his life confined to a kennel. This history has left him shy and cautious at first, but with time, patience, and kindness, Boone reveals his deeply affectionate side. Once he begins to trust, Boone becomes a devoted companion who craves gentle affection and enjoys peaceful moments with his person. He thrives in a calm environment and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs—he gets along wonderfully with canine companions and would benefit from a home with another friendly dog to help boost his confidence. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Boone is looking for a foster or forever home in Central Texas only. He needs a loving, understanding family who can help him continue to blossom at his own pace. His ideal adopter would be someone familiar with hounds or someone who appreciates the gentle, loyal nature of these incredible breeds. If you're a hound enthusiast or simply someone with a kind heart and a quiet home, Boone may be the perfect match for you. He’s not just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone who sees his potential and will offer the love and patience he’s never known before. Boone is ready to start again. Story
Breaker is up for adoption in TX, NE and PNW (excluding MA)! Meet Breaker – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making! Breaker is a handsome Great Dane mix a little over a year old who is ready to find an active, committed family to call his own. At around 65 pounds, he’s a wonderful blend of big-dog presence and goofy puppy charm. Breaker is currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, but he can be transported to the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast United States for the right home. Breaker thrives on activity and he still has that classic puppy energy, so he’s looking for a family that understands the importance of positive correction, consistency, and continued training to help him grow into the best version of himself. With the right guidance, Breaker is eager to learn and please. One of Breaker’s favorite things in the world is going on adventures. He absolutely loves riding in the car and would be thrilled to tag along for hikes, outings, road trips, or any fun day spent exploring with his people. Water is another big favorite—splashing, wading, and cooling off are right up his alley. When playtime rolls around, Breaker is all in. He loves toys of all kinds and enjoys playing with dogs his own size. Most of all, Breaker wants to be with his people. He would happily spend the entire day with his family, whether that means being on the go or just hanging out together. If you’re an active household looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion to share life’s adventures, Breaker may be the perfect match for you. Meet Shim 🐾💛 — a playful, affectionate pup with a goofy personality and a heart full of love! Shim is the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you’re doing 🥰. He’s incredibly people-oriented and happily follows his humans from room to room, always ready to keep you company. Whether you’re relaxing at home, working nearby, or heading out for an adventure, Shim is happiest by your side 💕. This handsome boy has settled beautifully into foster care and is already showing so many wonderful qualities: ✔️ House-trained with no accidents 🚽 ✔️ Sleeps great in his crate overnight 💤 ✔️ Friendly and social with other dogs 🐕 ✔️ Loves bones and chew toys 🦴 ✔️ Learning “sit,” “down,” and crate skills quickly 🎓 ✔️ Enjoys brushing, gentle handling, and affection✨ ✔️ Rides well in the car 🚗 Shim is playful, confident, and easygoing when meeting new dogs. He loves having canine friends and jumps right into playtime with enthusiasm 🎾🐶. Like many young, energetic pups, he can sometimes get a little overexcited and may need reminders to take breaks or play politely—but he responds well to feedback from other dogs and redirection from his humans. He’s also a smart, active boy who loves to chew and explore the world with his mouth 😄. Tough chew toys are definitely his favorite, especially if they have tags or squeaky parts to investigate! Like many herding-type pups, he can be a little mouthy or playful with ankles when excited, but he’s gentle and learning quickly with consistent redirection and enrichment. This sweet boy is looking for a home ready to embrace all the fun, silliness, and love that comes with a young dog 💫. With continued structure, playtime, and positive reinforcement, Shim is going to grow into an amazing companion. If you’re searching for a loyal shadow, playful best friend, and cuddle buddy all wrapped into one adorable pup, Shim may just be your perfect match 🏡💖 Instagram: @nyacompanions

Story
|Santiago is a striking dog with a mostly white coat and a unique mix of white, tan, and grey on his face. He looks like a blend of Shepherd, Anatolian or Pyrenees, and Great Pyrenees, and carries himself with a gentle, thoughtful presence. At around 50 pounds, he’s a medium-large dog with a calm energy that makes him a steady companion. In the care of a foster home, Santiago has shown that he can settle when given space, patience, and quiet encouragement. He is comfortable in a household with other dogs and doesn’t react to normal activity or people moving around, showing that he can learn to feel safe in a calm, structured environment. Car rides are still a bit overwhelming, and new experiences can be intimidating for him, but with a gentle guide, Santiago is beginning to show curiosity and trust. He is not destructive and adjusts well when left alone in a secure, quiet space. Santiago is looking for a patient home that can continue to help him gain confidence, offering calm reassurance and gentle guidance. With the right family, he has the potential to blossom into a loving, loyal companion.

Story
Ikat is a spunky 7-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Lab mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. He’s the kind of dog who knows how to have fun—whether that’s chasing squirrels with enthusiasm, fetching his favorite ball, splashing around in the water, or stretching out in the sun for a perfect afternoon nap. This handsome guy is as smart as he is playful. Ikat is both house-trained and crate trained, and he comes loaded with an impressive list of tricks: sit pretty, down dog (yes, yogis—he’s got you covered), dab, spin, roll over, drop it, wait, leave it, and even “take it politely” for gentle treat-taking. He loves learning and thrives when he gets to show off just how clever he is. At home, Ikat is a really cool, easy companion who settles in nicely and enjoys being near his people. He would do best in a calm, adult home, as he can feel nervous around children. While he can tolerate other dogs for short periods, Ikat would truly shine as the only pet—where he can soak up all the love, attention, and one-on-one time without any pressure or competition. Ikat is looking for someone who appreciates a dog with personality, intelligence, and a playful spirit. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, laughs, and a best friend who’s always ready for the next adventure—or the next sunny spot in the yard.
