Coal is a rather layed back kinda boy. Coal enjoys playing and EATING! He loves couch time. Coal will need further training of course but has done well in the house and crate time. He needs a bit of time to warm up to new people, after appropriate intro with other dogs, he does nicely. He is quite the lovebug!

Story
This is Horse. She is a 2Y, female spayed Dane/Pitt mix with a heart full of love to share. At 75 lbs, she might be a larger pup, but that just means there's more of her to love! She absolutely adores playing with other dogs and have quickly made friends with every dog she meets- she also befriended a cat! Being very food motivated, she is always eager to please you and learn new things. One of her favorite pastimes is running around outside in a backyard chasing toys. When it's bedtime, she knows exactly how to get into her kennel. She is trusted enough to be left out of the kennel during the day, and she usually just naps on the couch or plays with the other dogs. Horse is a quick learner and can pick up right from wrong if someone is patient with her. Despite having scarring on all her legs from her abusive past, she remains hopeful and full of love. Her biggest dream is to sleep in a cozy bed with her human every night and be showered with affection. Will you give Horse a chance?

Story
Aren’t I a handsome young man? I was found during the cold snap and a nice lady brought me inside to warm up. I may be a youngster but I am very smart. I already know the command for sit and will stop at a curb or doorway and not move until I receive the command to go. I also know “off” so I won’t jump on you. I would love a family who loves to play and goes on long walks as I have lots of energy.

Story
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and other core vaccinations. Please complete an adoption application at https://www.asvtexas.org/adoption-application.html. Comet was adopted as a young puppy from a local shelter by a teenager.  Needless to say, it didn't work out and Comet was returned to the shelter emaciated and sick. Luck was on his side when rescue agreed to help him. He was immediately sent to the vet to be treated for severe pneumonia.  He is on his way to a full recovery and is extremely sweet.  Comet sleeps quietly in his crate at night but otherwise is doing well free to roam in the house.  He is good with cats and other dogs.  His energy level is just returning so toys and other dogs are fun to play with but his favorite place is sleeping on the sofa next to the fire!ASVT does not have a facility; all of our adoptable pets live in volunteer foster homes until they are adopted. No one takes a salary so all donations and grants are used for the rescue animals. December 2, 2025, 8:39 am

Story
This sweet boy is a gentle, affectionate Great Dane with an amazing temperament. He loves being around people, enjoys attention, and has a goofy, lovable personality typical of the breed. He’s well-mannered, friendly, and does great with families who can give him time, structure, and daily interaction. We absolutely adore him, but with our current schedules we simply don’t have the time he deserves. He thrives on companionship and would be happiest in a home where someone can spend quality time with him and include him in their daily routine. He truly is an amazing dog and will make a wonderful companion for the right family.
