Story
Aren’t I a handsome young man? I was found during the cold snap and a nice lady brought me inside to warm up. I may be a youngster but I am very smart. I already know the command for sit and will stop at a curb or doorway and not move until I receive the command to go. I also know “off” so I won’t jump on you. I would love a family who loves to play and goes on long walks as I have lots of energy.

Story
After his owners lost their home, Bo lost his, too, right along with his favorite people, so he needs a pick me up! Accustomed to sleeping in his own (big) bed, he's making do with his shelter accommodations, but of course he'd prefer one of his very own again! Bo has been around dogs and cats before but has not met little human munchkins, so easy and slow introductions to this big and gentle guy are a good suggestion for all parties! He enjoys romping in the yard and taking a dip in the water but really doesn't enjoy being alone, so if you work at home, are retired or simply enjoy being a homebody, handsome Bo is your guy! Make room in your heart for the big love of Bo!

Story
AXEL THE GREAT DANE! | BIG PERSONALITY AND EVEN BIGGER HEARTMeet Axel! This handsome 4½ year-old Great Dane deserves a happy ending.Axel’s original mom loved him dearly, but when she had to leave an abusive situation, her life changed in ways that made it impossible for her to keep him. Axel found himself needing a new home through no fault of his own.Today, Axel is being fostered by a fabulous board and train partner, where he’s receiving love, attention, and professional guidance while he waits for his forever family. And what a personality this big guy has!Axel is fabulous with other dogs! He loves their company, although he doesn't always seem to realize just how big he is. At 150 pounds, he often falls victim to the classic warning: "Objects are closer than they appear." 😂 Whether he's navigating around furniture or maneuvering those long Great Dane legs, his larger-than-life personality and occasional lack of spatial awareness are all part of his charm.Axel can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but give him time, patience, and the chance to build trust, and you'll discover an affectionate, playful, and wonderfully expressive companion who is as loyal as they come. He's been working on his obedience and leash manners with his foster trainers and has made so much progress. While he's safe, cared for, and surrounded by people who love and want the very best for him, there's something they can't replace...a family of his own.Axel doesn't need everyone. He needs his someone.Someone who understands that a dog his size needs more than love alone. He needs calm, confident leadership and consistency. Someone who appreciates his personality and size.Axel would thrive with an experienced large or giant-breed owner who can provide structure, a predictable routine, and plenty of room for those long Great Dane legs. He also struggles during storms and would appreciate someone who can help him feel safe when the weather gets loud. But there's so much more to Axel than his size or his training. He's the dog who makes people smile with his goofy expressions. The dog who doesn't always realize he's taking up the entire room. The dog who LOVES to play in water. The dog who becomes DEEPLY DEVOTED once you've earned his trust. He's a big, lovable goofball who has so much companionship to offer the right personMaybe that's you!Could you be Axel's someone? 💙Axel is neutered and located in Houston, Texas. Out-of-state adopters will be considered, with additional special transport fees, due to his size. Donna's Love Pet Rescue is happy to discuss Axel's history, training, and specific needs with potential adopters to help ensure the right match.

Story
💙 Big Boy, Big Heart: Meet Billy! 🐾 Billy is a 1.5-year-old big sweetheart who has been waiting a long time for his forever family. 🥹 He’s been with the same foster home since he was just six weeks old, so his foster family has had the privilege of watching him grow from a tiny puppy into the handsome, lovable boy he is today. When Billy first meets new people, he can be a little shy and unsure. But with some recent training and lots of encouragement, this boy has absolutely blossomed! His confidence has grown so much, and it has been amazing to see him come out of his shell. 💙 These days, Billy is a confident leash walker who loves strutting along with his tail wagging. He’s also a total goofball who LOVES running around and doing zoomies, playing with other dogs, and splashing around in kiddie pools. 💦🐶 If there’s water involved, Billy is probably going to be right there having the time of his life! And underneath that big, goofy personality is an even bigger sweetheart. Billy absolutely loves being pet and soaking up attention from his people. Once he gets comfortable with you, he is more than happy to show you just how much love he has to give. 🥰 Billy is looking for a family who will give him the patience and continued encouragement he needs to keep building his confidence. He would love a home with a securely fenced yard where he can run, play, zoom, and enjoy all of the fun things he loves most. After spending nearly his entire life with one foster family, we would LOVE to see Billy finally get the happily-ever-after he deserves. 🏡❤️ He has grown so much, and we know his forever family is out there! Billy is fully vetted and ready to find his forever home. Could you be the family he’s been waiting for? 🐾 Apply to adopt Billy today! 💙
